I don't know about you, but when I find the perfect gift for someone, it is hard for me to keep from giving to them early. Why? Because I know just how much they will LOVE it, and I can't wait to share this gift with them, so they can share in the same excitement I felt when I found this "just for them" gift. A couple of weeks ago, I was contacted by the folks at 76th & Newbury. They design innovative and personalized art to celebrate each of life’s special moments. Some of their most popular items are their Modern US Travel Map, Animal Safari World Traveler, Nursery and Kids Art Print and Art Gift for Grandparents. After browsing their website I fell in love with their Silhouette Art Gift for Grandparents.
My parents, instantly came to mind, as I always try to give them a personalized gift from the girls each Christmas. Last year, I gave them matching Nana and Papa coffee mugs with the girls' pictures. And, the year before, I made a pillow their photos, which my parents have on the couch in the living for all to see. My dad likes to hug it and smiles when he misses his girls. :-)
So, when I saw the Silhouette Art Gift for Grandparents, I had to jump at the opportunity to review this art print, and surprise my parents when they came for Thanksgiving with it. See...I told you I wouldn't be able to keep it a secret until Christmas. :-) And, I am glad that I didn't as they loved, and now have it hanging in their living to enjoy each and every day, and be reminded about their amazing grandchildren, that my two brothers and I blessed them with. :-)
I was able to go through the entire ordering process, and have to say, it was easy. After first when I saw all the different silhouette and color options, I was a little overwhelmed.
The hardest part was choosing the silhouettes, partly because they all looked so cute. But, after I found the silhouette perfect for each of the grandchildren, it was easy as 1-2-3.
What I loved most about working with 76th & Newbury to place this personalized gift is that their staff of design gurus (as they like to call themselves) were amazing. I had sent in my customization form which includes the silhouettes and names of each child, along with the color scheme and if I wanted to add special writing or initials to the tree. Within 4 hours of submitting my form, a design guru from 76th & Newbury had sent me back an email with a proof for my review. We went back and forth a couple of times making tweaks to the proof, until I was satisfied and ready to have it sent to the printer. But, leave it to me to spell one of the grandchild's name wrong. I quickly reached out to the design guru I had worked with, and they stopped it from being printed and made the necessary spelling change for me. He sent the proof again, and I said "Yes...ready to print FINALLY."
Within a week, I had this beautiful custom art print arrive at my door. I have to admit, when I first saw it, I couldn't help but tear up.
My parents always wanted to be grandparents, as they know just how special grandchildren are. And, I know they wanted to spoil them like only grandparents can! :-) But, when I was diagnosed with cancer back in 2008 and told I couldn't have children, I not only cried for myself, but also because I felt like I was disappointing my parents. At the time, I was the only one of their children married, and they would always ask prior to my cancer diagnosis when we would surprise them with their first grandchild. But, the doctors got it wrong and in 2010 and then again in 2011, I welcomed our two girls, Savannah and Bella, to this world, and made my parents proud grandparents. So, when I saw the Silhouette Art Gift for Grandparents, it was a bittersweet moment to see the silhouettes of not just my brothers' kids, but also my two "miracle babies" on the canvas. And, I knew that when my parents saw the print, they, too, would tear up...and, that they did!
After awhile they were able to pose for a photo holding their Silhouette Art Gift for Grandparents. :-)
I have to say that the moment I gave them this custom and personalized art print, was the best day of 2016. They were so happy, and called the girls and I over for extra hugs. And, the smiles and tears said it all...grandchildren (and family in general) are the best presents of all. So, why not make a Silhouette Art Gift for Grandparents from 76th & Newbury, so that the special grandparents in your life, can be reminded of this when they see their custom art print hanging on the wall?
