I love homeschooling my girls, as it gives me the opportunity to tailor their lesson plans and learning based on things they enjoy or show interest in.  While the girls are too young to really care about or ask about the upcoming election, they have been showing interest in learning about the United States of America and historic landmarks, thanks to recent educational shows we have watched on television.  So, as part of our curriculum, I have created fun theme weeks were we gallop around the United States on their magical pony riding sticks and make stops in each state.  While visiting each state, we learn all about the state, views videos and look at photos of landmarks and iconic attractions, and even sample popular dishes from recipes shared on the Internet from foodies.
