I love sharing books with my girls, especially ones that I can tie into our homeschool curriculum.  One book that I have fallen in love with and have been sharing with the girls the past month or so is the recently released "Parable Treasury" by Liz Higgs, available through Thomas Nelson.  This book if made up of four short parables that cover the four seasons -- fall, winter, spring and summer.  From a Lily for Easter to a sunflower blooming in summer, to a lovely pumpkin ready to be picked from the pumpkin patch for fall and a pine tree for winter, this book is a wonderful addition to your child's library.  This is the first book I have read by Liz Curtis Higgs, but will not be the last.  I love her writing style and how she chooses the perfect words to tell her story, and ties in Bible verses with each.

So far we have read The Pumpkin Patch Parable and The Pine Tree Parable, and followed up with discussions about the Bible verses the author hand-picked to go with each page.  The stories were short enough to keep the girls attention, but packed full of meaningful lessons and messages of God.  What a beautiful and fun way to share God's love than with this Parable Treasury filled with four stories of the seasons.  

I can't wait until Spring and Summer roll around so that I can share the other stories with my girls and have a meaningful conversation about God's words, the messages shared and just appreciate the beauty of the season.  If you are looking for a children's book to give as a gift this holiday that will be read time and again and enjoyed for years to come, then you will want to check out "Parable Treasury" by Liz Curtis Higgs.  It is a bedtime favorite of my girls, and one we will be reading for some time to come.
