Now that Christmas is right around the corner -- only 35 more days -- I have started to hear radio stations playing Christmas music all day, as well as holiday movies airing in the evenings.  I simply love this time of year and can't get enough holiday music and cheer.  How about you?  

Thanks to a couple local radio stations playing 24 hours of Christmas music, I have been listening to it while driving the girls around or running errands. And, thanks to these radio stations I have one particular song playing in my head all the time...Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas is You."  

Back in the day I used to love Mariah Carey, but no so much lately.  Usually I get my Mariah Carey fix as they play a lot of her holidays songs during the Christmas season. :-)  And, if having this one particular song in my head wasn't enough, I opened the mail the other day to find a new book from Doubleday Books for Young Readers.  Can you guess what it was?... It was a new picture book from the all-time bestselling female musical artist, Mariah Carey, inspired by her bestselling and beloved holiday song, "All I Want for Christmas is You."  

At first I thought it was a cruel joke as I have found myself singing this song in the shower, in line at the grocery store and even while trying to fall asleep at night.  Now, I have book inspired by the song to share with my girls.  But, I just love children's books and sharing them with my girls, especially holidays ones, so I couldn't wait to read this to them at bedtime the other night.

This book, which became available for purchase on November 10th is inspired by the lyrics of Mariah Carey's holiday song.  This cute story is about a little girl who desperately wants a puppy for Christmas.  She spends her time dreaming about a puppy, drawing pictures of the puppy of her dreams and even making puppy cookies, puppy snowmen, etc.  The girls hopes Santa hears her wish and brings her a puppy for Christmas.

Even if you are not a fan of Mariah Carey or her holiday song, you will find yourself loving this cute holiday story.  Not only are the illustrations beautifully done, and leave your eyes lingering a little longer to take in all the wonder of the season that is brought to life with the detailed illustrations, but the story itself is cute and one many kids can relate to.  My oldest daughter continually asks Santa for a cat, even though she knows my husband and I are allergic.  

If you are looking for a fun children's book to share with your child and get them excited about the joy of the season, then you will want to check out "All I Want for Christmas" by Mariah Carey.  It has become a personal favorite of my girls' and I, and I love you and your family will fall in love with it, too!
