Congrats Denise -- Have fun in FL with the family!!!!
Another movie that my girls enjoyed watching (a few times these past two weeks while sick) was "Maya the Bee," which actually released on DVD back on May 19th. Perfect for younger audiences, as well as a great family movie night film, this animated movie introduces us to Maya, an outspoken bee, who also wants to be independent and do her own things. Maya is a very curious bee, who ends up being kicked out of the beehive. When this happens, Maya has to grow up fast and learn how to survive on her own. Thankfully, she is joined by her friend, Willy, who will help her navigate through the mysterious meadow.
While on her own, Maya and her friend Willy meet and befriend a variety of insects and creatures who also call the meadow home. This movie, which is vibrant in color and has a easy to understand and follow along story, is perfect for even the youngest of viewers to watch and enjoy. Both of my girls fell in love with Maya the first time they saw this movie, and have since watched it almost a dozen of times since its release.
Not only is the story cute, but kids will also learn lessons like the importance of friendship, being yourself, being loyal and working together. I like when films like this have positive messages that you can share and talk about with your kids afterwards. My girls and I talked about the movie in great length and I loved hearing the girls talk about Maya and Willy and their strong bond and friendship and how happy they were that Willy came to keep Maya safe in the meadows, and how they worked together with their new friends to stop the Royal Adviser's evil plans.
In addition to the beautiful animated scenery, this film also includes some catchy songs including my girls' favorite sung by Flip the grasshopper called, “It Don’t Matter What They Say, Be Yourself Every Day.” :-) If you are looking for a fun family-friendly movie to share with your kids, or have young children who have been asking for a new movie to watch, why not consider picking up Maya the Bee, now available to own on DVD. With so many wonderful positive messages and a great story, your family will fall in love with Maya and her friends, just like my family has. :-)
