Available Now on DVD -- Dora’s Explorer Girls: Our First Concert! DVD (Review)

Disclosure:  I was sent a screener copy from the vendor in order to write up an honest review. All views shared are mine and mine alone.

I have to admit, I was getting a little tired of the old Dora the Explorer series, partly because my girls would watch the same episodes over and over again, and I would also find myself asking "why is Dora being allowed to explore and go into the woods, etc. on her own?, "Where are her parents?, etc."  You know you watch too many kid shows when you start picking it apart and wondering how it can be believable.  So, when I heard that they were creating this new Dora series, which would star an older Dora and new group of friends, my girls and I couldn't wait to check it out.  And, just like other Nick Jr. shows, this new series has a catchy theme song and songs throughout the episode that will get you singing along.

Both of my girls are loving the new Dora and Friends series -- just take a look at their rooms and you will see, as Santa brought them dolls, play sets, etc. from this series, that they continue to play with.  So, when they saw this new DVD arrive at the house last week, you can only imagine how excited they were.  They couldn't wait to watch it and were on their best behavior so they could watch after dinner, instead of waiting for the weekend.  Even though Savannah can't read yet,  she knew what this DVD was about, as we had recently downloaded the same movie to the girls' Leap Pads so that they could watch it in the car. From just a few viewings, they had all the songs from the movie down and were ready to sing again, when we played the DVD.

Dora’s Explorer Girls: Our First Concert

Now that Dora is all grown up and living in the city, she is enjoying new adventures like taking in a concert for the first time.  What concert will she see with her friends?  Latin sensation, Shakira, of course!  My girls, thanks to their Daddy are Shakira fans, and were excited when they saw Dora liked her, too!  But, when Dora and her friends have a mix up with their tickets, their first concert is up in the air.  Will Dora and her friends get their tickets in time for the show?  I am not going to tell...you'll just have to pick up this DVD and watch the movie with your kids to find out! :-)
