Will your upcoming holiday include a trip? I was always envious of friends growing up who went to FL or some warmer local during the snowy cold winter months. And, it wasn't until I got older and got married that I got to experience what Christmas in a warm place was like. :-) We ended up heading to the US Virgin Islands to celebrate our second anniversary at Christmastime, and it made for the best gift we could have given each other.
Even though we are not traveling like we used to, as it is hard with little ones, my husband and I can't help but flip through travel magazines and look at online sales and deals for last minute getaways, as we imagine what it would be like to pack up and get away for a few days, with and without the girls.
Next year, the girls will be older and we are planning a family vacation to GA and SC. We can't wait to show the girls Savannah, which we named our oldest daughter, Savannah after. And, maybe when we feel a little bit more daring and comfortable traveling with the girls, will we whisk them away for Christmas and wake up on a beach or at least in a warmer climate.
Have you ever dreamed about traveling to a far off place for the holidays or just for fun? Did you live out your dreams or do you simply just find yourself daydreaming about these travel plans? If you are a daydreamer like me, why not make one of your New Year's resolutions for 2015 to be making your dream vacation a reality? I have learned through battling cancer that you only live once and that you should live each day like it is a gift. That is why I really want to take the girls next year to GA to let them experience the charm of the South and see why my husband and I fell in love with Savannah. And, maybe one day our dreams of moving there will become a reality, too! But, in the meantime, we are planning our trip to the South, and also in talks about celebrating our anniversary in Europe, while my parents watch the girls. It has been so long since my husband and I have been on vacation, since welcoming the girls four years ago -- I think we have earned it! :)
