If visiting a store doesn't get you thinking about the holidays, this move sure will. I don't know about you, but when I was out picking up Halloween candy last month, they already had Christmas trees and other holiday decorations on display. Rushing the holidays a bit? Each year, as soon as the summer winds up and the kids head back to school, I find more and more stores start promoting their Christmas offerings. From Pre-Black Friday sales to, Christmas in October, if the cold weather is not a reminder that winter and Christmas is upon us, the stores are there to remind us. :-)
But, I can't deny that I love the extra few weeks of holiday promotion, as Christmas is one of my favorite holidays. In addition to all the beautiful decorations and time spent with family, I love to watch Christmas classics, as well as share new movies with the girls. A couple of weeks ago I received a fun kid-friendly movie, "Alpha and Omega 2: A Howl-iday Adventure. Having not seen the first movie, I didn't know what it was about, or if the girls would even like it. But, within the first 10 minutes of watching, the girls and I were hooked and couldn't get enough of the cute little wolf cubs.
The storyline is easy to follow and understand, making it great to watch with the little ones. Runt, the littlest of the cubs goes missing, and it is us to Kate and Humphrey, along with Runt's siblings, Stinky and Claudette, to find Runt. This fun-filled animated movie is filled with action and suspense and does a great job in sharing with children that "home is where the family is," especially around the holidays.
At only 45 minutes, this movie will keep even the youngest of viewers attention, without having them wander off to look for something else to do. We have watched this movie a handful of times, and each and every time my daughter, Savannah, says, "I hope they find Runt," even though she knows the ending. :-) The special features, which include the making of this movie, as well as a fun personality test and wolf trivia, add to the fun of this new release. And, with the holidays right around the corner this new release would make for a great movie to share with the family, or put in your child's stocking.

Kate and Humphrey and their three wolf cubs (Stinky, Claudette and Runt) are happily preparing to celebrate their first winter holidays together when their smallest cub, Runt, mysteriously disappears. They must now go on a new journey across the wilderness to find and bring back Runt before the winter festivities begin at home. It's their greatest adventure yet, filled with action and suspense as well as plenty of the humor and heartwarming moments that made the original Alpha And Omega so popular. While their adventure does not end exactly as planned, in the end Kate and Humphrey discover that for the holidays, "Home is where the family is."
Happy Howl-idays!
