I have a new guilty pleasure now. For the past few nights after the girls go to bed, I relive my childhood by watching the new "The Wonder Years" Season One" on DVD. In addition to this new DVD release, fans who span many generations, can also purchase a collector's set which includes 26 DVD of which you will find the entire show's episodes, as well as bonus features, all stored in a cool mini locker (just like Winnie and Kevin had in high school).
And, just last night, I was flipping through the channels looking for something to watch and ended up landing on the infomercial about the new complete series set, and got to see the cast as they look now, as they recently reunited for the launch of this collector's set. It was nice to see the whole gang back again, sitting in the the Kevin's kitchen, talking about their favorite scenes.
About the Show:
"Premiering after the 1988 Super Bowl, The Wonder Years captured the hearts of audiences and critics alike with the trials and tribulations of young Kevin Arnold as he enters junior high. From his first kiss with Winnie Cooper to his friendship with Paul Pfeiffer and the ups and downs of the Arnold family, fans shared in laughter, love, loss, and above all, wonder. "
In addition to being a fan of the story lines, and crossing your fingers since the pilot episode that Winnie and Kevin live happily ever after, I also loved reliving some of my favorite songs of my youth, that fill this new 2-DVD set that make up the complete first season. Oh how I wish I could go back to my youth when everything was so carefree. Even though I can't, it is still nice to be able to walk down memory lane and watch one of my favorite childhood shows from the beginning.
And, this Christmas, I have already added the complete series to the top of my wish list, and hope that Santa is listening. :-) This is one show I will also be sharing with my girls as they grow, and know they will fall in love with Winnie Cooper and Kevin Arnold just like I and so many others fans of this hit show of the 80's and early 90's did, and still do today.
If you were a fan of The Wonder Years growing, and have been waiting like for me the series to finally come to DVD, when now is your chance to pick up the Complete Season 1, which includes 2 DVDs, or splurge and buy the complete series, which comes on 26 discs, and includes bonus footage, interviews with cast, and so much more, packaged in a neat mini locker that you can decorate with magnets.
