Another Great Hallmark Original Movie, “LUCKY IN LOVE” Arrives on DVD on Aug. 26th (Review)

One of my guilty pleasures a few years back was to watch Gossip Girl on the WB Network.  I know I am not alone, as many of my girlfriends would clear their schedules or cancel date nights to watch a new episode, while we talked on the phone during and after about it.  While I was a fan of the characters, Blair and Serena, I also found myself rooting for Dan's best friend and outsider, Vanessa, played by Jessica Szohr.  There was something about Jessica's acting that made you feel empathy for her character and hope that she would not get involved in all the upper East Side drama.

So, when I saw a television trailer this past March for "Lucky in Love," which stars both Jessica Szohr and Deidre Hall from Days of Our Lives, I couldn't wait to watch it with my girlfriends.

Synopsis:
"Mira Simon has a definite idea of what her fantasy life entails: the perfect job, the perfect house and the perfect man. After a few innocent April Fool’s jokes, Mira’s dream life starts becoming a reality, and she soon realizes living her fantasy may not be all that it’s cracked up to be."

And, when the movie aired, we were sitting on the couch and floor enjoying popcorn and wine, while our husbands took the kids to dinner and mini golf.  We had a blast watching this movie, which had Jessica's character pining over a guy and a career she just had to have.  Then when she landed the guy and her dream job, she realized that it wasn't see really wanted.  She had sold herself out and forgot where she had came from, while losing close friends along the ways.  Her best friend, who was a guy, and who had a crush on her, thought he lost the love of his life.  But, with all Hallmark Channel movies with a happily ever after ending, Jessica's character finally realizes what she wants and goes back to her old life, while gaining a new boyfriend...her best friend, who had loved her all along.  I know what you are thinking?  Sappy, right? And, something you have already seen.  Yes and yes, but this one is really good, and worth watching, especially if you are a Deidre Hall fan or just love good romantic movies with happy endings.
