My Thoughts:
Are you familiar with "The Magic School Bus" series?  If not, it is about a teacher called Ms. Fizzle who takes her students on fun filled adventures through the human body, to Outer Space and even into the deep sea to explore underwater life.  Their out of this world field trips are made possible with a magic school bus.  And, once they step onto the bus, the kids, thanks to Ms. Fizzle are in for fun and adventure, as they learn about new things through scientific exploration and discovery.
Since I first watched episodes from this popular series geared towards children ages 4-9 years of age, I have become a fan and have made a point to pick up additional DVDs to add to our growing "Magic School Bus" series collection.  My plan is to share these DVDs with my girls when they enter school and start learning about how the world works and are introduced to planets, inhabitants on land and in the water, as well as the human body. Through fun-filled adventures shared by Ms. Fizzle and her students, my girls will be able to understand science and math concepts better.  This series does an excellent job in illustrating how physics, chemistry, biology and even math come in play in everyday life.  Scientific term used are age appropriate and describes so that young viewers can understand and follow along.
My girls loved this new DVD and book, and I know as they get older they will want to watch this and other "Magic School Bus" DVDs over and over again.  Even though kids are still on summer vacation and really don't want to be learning or studying things, this DVD is perfect as not only will they be entertained with adventurous stories, but they will also learn at the same time.  Thanks to "The Magic School Bus" series, both boys and girls will love learning about science and math, as they take out of this world fun field trips with Ms. Fizzle and her students.  If only there was actually a magic school bus?  I would definitely want to go for a ride...wouldn't you? :-)
I had originally viewed "The Magic School Bus: Takes a Dive" DVD a few years ago, but at that time it didn't come with a Book like this special edition set down.  Back then, I was watching the fun-filled episodes with my niece and nephew.  Now, I get to enjoy the water-themed science episodes along with the bonus episode about the digestive system with my girls, and start them early on loving science.  I used to love science when I was in school and received a degree in Public Health in college.
