Last week I shared a review of the new release, "Endless Love" from Universal Studios, which hit store shelves this past Tuesday, May 27th. If you missed it, here is more about the movie, the official movie trailer and my thoughts:
About the Film:
"When beautiful Jade meets charismatic David, her sheltered world of privilege turns upside down when the pair’s instant desire sparks a reckless summer love affair. While Jade leaves behind her inhibitions and innocence to fall for David, he works to prove himself worthy of her love. But when David’s mysterious past and Jade’s overprotective father threaten to tear them apart, their romance will be put to the ultimate test.
Romance is as tragic as it is beautiful: two people together forever, through sun and snow, thick and thin, work and wander. In Endless Love, Jade and David’s romance goes from a relaxed summer fling to an impassioned affair meant to last the test of time, even as David’s dark past and Jade’s grieving father pulls them apart. Jade and David are but one of a long list of forbidden lovers in film history, another embattled couple fighting the odds before the silver screen viewers own teary eyes. "
My Thoughts:
Usually my husband and I will wait until the weekend to watch movies, but this past week we didn't find much on television at night time once the girls went to bed, so we put this movie on last night to watch. While my husband is not a fan of chick flicks or romance films, he does like a few of the titles I shared above, including "The Notebook," "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days" and "Slumdog Millionaire." I had told him that this upcoming release was similar to these titles and he would like it. So, going on this and not having seen the trailer, he sat down to watch it with me.
At first, he wasn't that interested in the movie, and said, "Not only chick flick, I am out of here." But, I had him wait a few minutes, and those minutes made all the difference, as he started to get into the movie, and sat through the rest of the film with me. While the storyline is predictable and slow at times, the acting worked well together and made for a believable couple. You found yourself hoping that their love would last and that others would except them. I kept thinking about how this was a present day "Romeo and Juliet," as well as what you would see in today's societies where parents and others fight to keep true love apart.
If you love romantic films that have substance, then you will want to pick up a copy of "Endless Love" when it arrives in stores on 5/27. I will definitely be watching this movie again -- with my husband and during an upcoming "Girls Night In." And, I can't wait to hear what you think of it, once you see it.

Thanks to the kind folks at Universal Studios Home Entertainment, they sent me a fun viewing pack this past holiday weekend for me to enjoy with a few girlfriends, which includes the new release, "Endless Love" on Blu-ray, as well as nail polish, hair bows, movie CD soundtrack and more.
I was so excited to get my girlfriends together in a while due to our crazy schedules and family commitments. But, I used the need to hold a screening party to get the girls together, and have our husbands take the kids out for an afternoon. :-) And, this past Saturday while the kids and hubbies were out at the science center in CT with the kids, a few of my girlfriends and I got together. We ordered take out from a local bistro restaurant we love, brought the food back to the house, along with a bottle of wine, and settled in to watch this great romantic flick, that follows along the lines of Romeo and Juliet.

In addition to screening the film with my friends, I was also sent nail polish and a gift card to Target to buy munchies. Because I knew I would be getting take out, I ended up picking up little treats for the girls, to give as goodie bags as they were leaving. Come on, kids enjoy them at birthday parties, why can't moms enjoy them, too --- just because? :-) I filled a bag with chocolate, notepads, tea and coffee, along with fun summer items that I found in the $1 bin. The goodie bags were a big surprise and a hit with my friends. Like me, they usually give gifts to others, never expecting anything in return. So, it was a nice change to receive a goodie bag like this, after a wonderful afternoon spent together, enjoying great food and wine, a movie, conversation and pampering when we painted our nails and caught up.
While I don't get together as often as I would like with my girlfriends, times like these make me cherish their everlasting friendships even more. We had a blast at my "Endless Love" screening, and have continued to talk about this movie days later. If you haven't seen this flick, and love romance films, this is definitely one movie worth checking out. The story line and cast are amazing, and you will be drawn in from the start.
Oh, I wanted to share a few cute photos of Savannah, who wanted to pose with one of the hair bows that I was also sent for my girlfriends and I to enjoy.
They ended up bringing them home for their little girls, and sent me photos. Maybe next time, we will include our daughters when having a girls day in with movies and pampering. Savannah felt a little left out when she came home and saw I had painted my nails without her. So, that night, we had bonding time and painted her hands and feet, while she wore the hair clip. :-)
