My Thoughts:
One of my college roommates turned me onto Anime, and this led me to take a class in college about this. As part of the class I watched various Japanese Anime series which aired on television or went straight to video. In addition, I also read Anime books, include Deltora Quest, a best-selling book series by Australian author Emily Rodda. Out of all the Anime books I read, this was by far my favorite.
like all Anime content, this book series features a fantasy land filled with magic, as well as monsters and the need to fight evil. In this particular series, we are introduced to Lief, Jasmine and Barda, the three people who can save the kindgom from the evil Shadow Lord. Through a dangerous quest, the three people must collect lost gems from the belt of Deltora. They must collect all the gems in order stop the evil Shadow Lord and save the people of Deltora from his evil reign.
If it wasn't for Facebook, I would have never known that this best selling book was airing on the Hub Network back in 2010 and 2011. My old college roommate sent me a message about it, and I made a point to tune in and record the series. There were a few episodes I missed, which I hoped to get a chance to watch at some point in time. And, that time finally came when I was sent the complete series, which makes up the upcoming 8-DVD set from Cinedigm.
While I have not watched all 8 DVDs (52 episodes in total), I have made my way through a few so far, and finally watched the episodes that I missed. If you are a fan of this bestselling book from Emily Rodda, or tuned in to watch this Anime series when it aired on the Hub Network a few years back, then you will want to pick up this new 8-DVD set when it arrives in stores on June 10th.
I can't wait to find time to watch the other DVDs. And, now I have someone to watch them with, as my husband got hooked at watching a few of the episodes this past weekend with me. :-)
Disclosure: I was sent a screener copy from the vendor in order to write up an honest review. All views shared are mine and mine alone.
This sounds interesting and now I am going to have to check it out.
