I love trying out new food products, don't you? And, when a company's website has a "Recipes" section, I can't help but browse the recipes and pick out a few to try, along with their product offering. And, yesterday, when I had family and friends over for Easter dinner, I surprised them with a new mashed potato recipe I found at the Carib Delights website.
Usually when it comes to mashed potatoes, I am not one to add anything expect milk and butter, to give my homemade mashed potatoes a creamy, flavorful taste. But, I was intrigued by the Vermont Cheddar Mashed Yukon Golds Mashed Potatoes recipe I saw on the Carib Delights website and had to try it out.

Having never tried Carib Delights products before I wasn't sure if I would like the taste of this gourmet cheese spread, let alone like when it is added to a mashed potatoes side dish. But, I have to say, it was a hit during dinner yesterday. :-)
At first, guests had no idea I was changing up the recipe as they reached for the mashed potato bowl. But, after the first spoonful, I saw guests looking at one another trying to figure out what was different. Then, I showed them the container of Carib Delights gourmet cheese spread, which I was sent the day earlier for review. I told them all about this cheese spread, as well as the other Carib Delights products available. Like me, they had never heard about, let alone tried this product line. But, thanks to the easy to prepare recipe my mashed potatoes side dish was transformed into a winner, that had everyone reaching for another scoop, followed up by asking for the recipe. :-)
I can't wait to go food shopping this week, so that I can look for and pick up other Carib Delights gourmet cheese spreads to try with crackers. I have always been a fan of cheese and crackers as an after dinner snack while watching television with my husband, and now that the rich and flavorful gourmet cheese spreads from Carib Delights will turn basic cheese and crackers into a delicious treat. :-) And, I can't wait to try the Best Ever Mac & Cheese recipe, which turns your basic mac and cheese dish into something amazing. Just look at the photo below showing how just a few spoonfuls of Carib Delights cheese spreads adds a cheesy goodness to the pasta. Mmm, I am getting hungry just looking at it. :-)
