Shea Terra Organics Line of Skin Care Products Provides All Day Moisture Protection and Soothes Dry Chapped Winter Skin Instantly (Review)

I have shared on numerous occasions how I prefer 100% all natural products over others, especially when it comes to healthy and beauty products.  I oftentimes wonder what is actually included in products when you can't even decipher the ingredients.  Don't you?

With the harsh winter, my skin sure is taking a beating.  And, my poor girls, who also got my sensitive skin are also suffering with the itchies from dry, chapped skin.  Our youngest, for reasons we can't determine (maybe food allergies?), but she started suffering from eczema at a year old.  So, this cold weather is extremely hard on her skin.  Her problem areas -- knees, elbows, tummy and hands are all cracked and irritated.  Even with all the creams and lotions I put on the girls, they can't seem to find relief.  What do you do to help cold weather chapped and irritated skin?  We have the humidifiers going to put added moisture into the air while the heat is on, and try to limit the use of our wood stove as not to dry out the air any further.  But, we needed a product that really would provide the girls' skin with much needed moisture and relief.

I hadn't until I was recently contacted to review their Shea Butter Extreme in White Chocolate (It really smells like chocolate!).  After visiting their site to learn more about their brand and product line, I was excited to learn that they also offer a line of Shea Butter products made especially for babies and their delicate skin.  While my girls are 2 and 3 yrs. old, their sensitive skin is still very delicate and I need to be cautious of what products I apply as ones with perfumes cause their skin to dry out and become irritated.  And, with Bella's eczema prone skin, one small change in health and beauty products and she will have a bad eczema reaction, which will take 1-2 weeks to heal.  Not fun having the itchies, especially when you are that little and can't help but scratch and cause boo boo's. 

While I was excited to try the Shea Butter Extreme in White Chocolate myself, I was more interested in seeing how well the calming baby wash and shampoo and calming baby butter was, when it came to pampering the girls' dry skin caused by the cold winter weather.

I started out by trying out the products on a small area of their body first, to make sure they wouldn't have a reaction.  Once I saw that the product didn't cause irritation, it was bath time for the girls. :-)  Shea Terra Organics African Flower Power Calming Baby Wash and Shampoo is 100% natural and made with certified organic oils.  With no harsh chemicals, this calming baby wash and shampoo smelled amazing.. With calming lavender and chamomile, along with Fynbos flowers, the girls were able to unwind in the tub and relax, as the soothing ingredients did their magic and left their skin looking and feeling baby soft.  Savannah was the first to noticed that her skin was no longer tight feeling.  She couldn't stop running her hands over her belly and saying, "so soft."  Then, she did the smell test on her sister, as she leaned in and took a whiff of her hair.  Bella passed the cleanliness test, as Savannah told her she smelled clean, and like flowers. :-)

I followed up the soothing bath with the Shea Terra Organics African Flower Power Calming Baby Butter, also made with 100% natural ingredients.  Like the soothing baby wash and shampoo, this calming shea butter had hints of lavender, chamomile and Fynbos flowers.  I was amazed at well as this shea butter went on, and how it didn't leave the girls' skin looking or feeling greasy.  As soon as I was done rubbing in the butter, the girls felt more relaxed -- thanks to a good body massage -- but, also because their skin was instantly smooth and soft to the touch.  I repeated use of the baby wash and baby butter over the next few days and continued to see their girls' skin look and feel healthier.  And, if you looked at it now, you would never have thought just the other day that it was chapped and irritated from wind burn and the cold temperatures outside and dryness indoors.  Finally, I have found an all natural product that I can use on their delicate skin that actually works, and brings relief, while also leaving them relaxed due to the calming scents of lavender and chamomile -- making nap time and bedtime much more manageable. :-)

So, what did I think of the Shea Butter Extreme White Chocolate body creme I was sent?  This body creme, which is 99.7% natural and contains 30% Organic Shea Butter and 90% certified organic ingredients was a treat to use.  Not only was I in love with the amazing white chocolate scent, but unlike other body butters and cremes, this one really worked in getting my dry cracked skin back to its smooth, soft pre-winter appearance, thanks to the combination of shea butter and pure aloe vera leaf gel.  This combination really targeted my dry skin, and after the first application I could see results.  And, after just a few days of use, my skin looked and felt just as soft as the girls' skin.  What I was impressed with besides the instant results of these products was how long it lasted after applying.  Unlike other products I have tried in the past for dry skin relief, this one lasted hours after applying, helping to replace moisture loss over a longer period of time, without the need to re-apply.
