My Thoughts:A couple of weeks ago I shared how I have been reading God's Little Princess® Bedtime Devotional (Click here to enter my giveaway for your chance to win a copy of this book), another wonderful Tommy Nelson book with Savannah at bedtime. This devotional is helping to introduce Savannah to different scripture, while teaching God's words and the importance of prayer to her. Unfortunately, Bella is only two years old, and this book is a little too advanced for her to enjoy with us. But, she is starting to show interest in learning about God and even tries to pray with Savannah at bedtime. So, I have been on the search for a good faith-based book to share with her at bedtime to make our bedtime routine more personal and enjoyable.
As a Tommy Nelson Mommy I am able to review new releases and share fun giveaways with my readers. Last month they reached out to see if I would be interested in reviewing "Precious Moments: Little Book of Bedtime" with my girls. When I read the summary of the book, I knew that this was just the book I was looking to pick up and share with Bella. And, this past weekend, while my husband spent time with Savannah reading a section in her God's Little Princess® Bedtime Devotional book, I snuggled up with Bella in her bed and read this cute board book with her.
Even if your child is not a fan the Precious Moments characters, they will enjoy this bedtime book, which features original and traditional poems and prayers as well as scriptures, that children ages 1-4 yrs. old can understand, as they begin to learn about God and the Bible. I could tell that Bella was really enjoying the book, as she kept asking me to re-read certain poems and scripture. I loved hearing her say, "Amen" as I finished each page. Then, I would take time to talk to her about what I had shared and what each poem, scripture or prayer meant.
We have only had this bedtime book for a few short days, but it is getting a lot of use, as I read it to Bella at night time, and then follow up the next day sharing it with Savannah while Bella naps. Savannah, who is 3 yrs. old, loves trying to memorize and recite the different poems and prayers with me. And, she too, is asking me to re-read certain prayers that she likes.
If you have been looking for a great faith-based bedtime book for little ones (especially those between 1-4 yrs. old), then you will want to check out this board book. I especially love that is comes in the board book format as it will help keep the book in good condition, while little hands ruffle through it.

What a great book! My little ones are not so little anymore but they would have loved this!
ReplyDeleteWe didn't do bedtime stories as much as hymns/songs and prayers. A favorite to sing with my little brother was "Angels Watching Over Me." I'm excited to sing it to my 6 month old son :)
ReplyDeleteGoodnight Moon! I loved that book so much when I was a child and I think my son loves it as much as I do! :)
