I have to say that this year is starting off great --- so many amazing children's books have released from some of my favorite children's book publishers, including LB Kids. Even though Christmas is over, it sure has felt like Christmas with the recent and upcoming book releases sent for me and the girls to review and share with you all. Just the other day, we received two new books from Tad Carpenter, who is one of my favorite children's authors. If you Google my page and his name, you will find a handful of reviews I have shared over the years for his books. When the girls saw the following two books, they knew right away who the author was just by the cover art. :-) Tad Carpenter writes playful and oh so colorful books for kids -- and, they become instant hits in our house. Here is more about Tad Carpenter's two new children's books that released from LB Kids back on Jan. 7th, that you should definitely check out:

My Thoughts:
These two books include a fun lift-the-flap feature, that keeps my daughters' attention and engaged in the story from start to finish. After reading these two books a handful of times, my youngest who is two has added new words to her vocabulary. These books are great to introduce little ones to colors and feelings, or used as a way to practice skills they are learning in the house or at daycare. I love being able to say things like "apple" and having Arabella tell me "red" for its color...or, "I say happy" and Bella follows up by saying "Smile!" as she gives me one of her heart melting smiles.
When I am not reading these two books to the girls, I oftentimes find the pulling them off the shelf and sitting together flipping through the books and flipping the flaps. Here are a couple photos I took of the girls yesterday as they enjoying time together "reading." :-)

And, stay tuned next month when "Birdie Big-Girl Hair" by Sujean Rim releases from LB Kids --
Synopsis:
"It's time for Birdie's very first haircut, and the miniature fashionista yearns for more than just a simple trim. Should she choose an updo, a perm, or a ballerina bun? She looks through pictures, books, lots of magazines - even Mommy's yearbook - to find the best new look, and she and Mommy head to the salon. Her haircut looks fantastic, but begins to sag later on at the playground... because Birdie doesn't just love fashion - she likes to run and jump and play! In the end, Mommy reminds her that the most perfect Birdie look is the one that lets her be herself.
Sujean Rim's beautiful watercolor and fabric collages will have fashionistas of every age giggling as she showcases Birdie with iconic hairstyles from decades past. Another delightful adventure in the Birdie series that offers a playful balance of fashion, fun, and heart!"
My Thoughts:
If your child like the "Birdie" book series, then they will fall in love with this upcoming release. When I read this to the girls, they kept asking me when they would be getting their big girl haircuts, as I have yet to cut their precious locks, except for their bangs. As they wait for Mommy to build up the strength to bring them to get their hair cut, we will be enjoying this cute story featuring one of their favorite characters, "Birdie." I can see this book being a good way to calm little one's nerves before they go for their first haircut. Like I said, my girls are just waiting to go and get pampered and come home with a new hairdo. :-)
Disclosure: I was sent samples from the vendor in order to write up an honest review. All views shared are mine and mine alone.
I love this book about feelings and emotions this is so great for kids to learn about.
