Eek, I can't believe Thanksgiving is a week away. This year, in addition to hosting my parents, we will also be having other relatives and friends stopping by throughout the day for dinner and dessert. And, just last night, my husband let me know that he invited a few people from his work who are here from India on business, and who don't have a place to go otherwise for the holidays. Like they say, 'The more the merrier." But, I can't help but start stressing out about how much food I need to make, the dietary needs of guests having dinner or dessert with us, as well as the guests who will be staying with us for the long weekend. Right now, unless no one else is added to the list, we have my parents, 3 people from my husband's work, and a husband/wife couple and their three girls from our college days staying with us in our 5 bedroom, 2 full, 2 1/2 bath home.
Last weekend, my husband made the spare toddler beds and put them in Arabella's room, as she still sleeps in her car bed at the foot of our bed. My parents have their room already set up, and we turned one of the playrooms upstairs into a guest room with two twin beds and a futon. You would think that we were trying to start a hotel, with all the beds we are trying to get ready by next Wed., when guests will start to arrive. We also have a pull out couch in the basement and blowup bed for our college friends to use. It will be nice to have a house full of people, but that also means that there will be a lot of laundry accumulating over the 4-5 days that they will be staying with us -- from facecloths, bath towels, napkins, etc. And, with little ones, you can always expect the need to spot treat and soak stained clothes. And, if the weather holds up, my husband likes to get outside with the guys and kids and play soccer or just run around and act crazy -- so, this is another instance where I usually have to spot treat grass or mud stains.
In the past, having to do all this extra laundry, as I still do 1-2 loads a day with the girls' clothes, face clothes, bath towels, etc., would drive me crazy. I would stress out about which detergent to use, as I wouldn't want to spend all my time in the laundry room, washing and having to re-wash cloth. But, since being introduced to Arm & Hammer detergent, cleaning clothes is a breeze, and fun! Yes, I said it...I like to do the laundry. It is therapeutic to me, and also an excuse for "me time," while my husband watches the girls, as I fold and put away the clothes at my own pace. :-)
When it comes to Arm & Hammer detergent, I have been using and loving Arm & Hammer Ultra Power 4X Laundry Detergent, as I was recently sent a sample to try out from Mom Central Consulting.
"Designed to give you ultimate cleaning strength in a smaller size, new ARM & HAMMER™ Ultra Power 4X Liquid Laundry Detergent is ultra concentrated and packed with two scoops of baking soda. This little bottle offers loads of power, getting your clothes 50% whiter and 50% fresher compared to the leading value detergent per load. It’s the little bottle with the big value. Also available in Perfume & Dye Free."
I ended up pulling all the sheets out of the closet last weekend to do a count and make sure I had enough for all guests, and spare for accidents, etc. Then, I provided to wash them all, to make them smell fresh and clean. Arm & Hammer Ultra Power 4X Laundry Detergent worked great in getting the clothes clean, while not having to use a full cup of detergent like I would have for a large load with other detergents. Because Arm & Hammer Ultra Power 4X Laundry Detergent is concentrated, and contains powerful stain fighters, I was able to skip the pre-treating and soaking steps for stained clothes and sheets.
And, when I was all done with the laundry and getting all the sheets, towels, dinner table napkins, etc. ready for our guests next week, I was surprised to see that I had only used 1/4 of liquid detergent in the small Arm & Hammer Ultra Power 4X Laundry Detergent bottle. This laundry detergent delivered more washes per load than 2x other concentrated detergents I have used in the past. Amazing! Once our guests arrive next week, I will not be stressing out when it comes time to tackle gravy stains on white dress shirts, grass or mud stains from the kids and adults having fun together outside, or any other stain presented to me. Instead, I will reach for my small conveniently shaped Arm & Hammer Ultra Power 4X Laundry Detergent bottle, and know that once the laundry is done, the clothes will come out smelling fresh and looking clean, without the need for a second wash or pre-wash stain treating and soaking.
If you are planning on having guests over for the upcoming holidays, or are just not happy with the results of your current laundry detergent, why not give Arm & Hammer Ultra Power 4X Laundry Detergent a try. You, too, will be amazed at how well this liquid detergent will get your family's and guests' clothes, etc.
Disclosure: I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting (#MC) for Arm & Hammer. I received a product sample to facilitate my review and a promotional item as a thank you for participating.
I have not yet tried their laundry detergent but now after reading your review I think I will try it. Thanks for sharing this one and have a great day.
