My Thoughts:

What a cute movie this was.  We missed it in theaters, but kept hearing from friends with kids how great this movie was.  So, I was eager to have this movie arrive on DVD to share with the girls.  As soon as the saw the DVD cover art, they fell in love with Turbo a snail.  Yes, you read that right, "Turbo" was the snail's name.  Now, I know you probably think snails are slow.  Well, not Turbo...that is until he ingests Nitro after getting stuck in a car's engine area.  After this incident, he is turbo-fast, hence the name for this cute family friendly movie.

Turbo has a dream...to win the Indy 500.  Can he do it?  Don't worry, I will not ruin the ending in case your family hasn't seen it.  I will let you know that the animation of this recent release is amazing.  And, when you and your child are not falling in love with Turbo, you will love the positive themes of this movie, which includes dreaming big, never giving up and teamwork.  The movie itself flows along nicely, and keeps even the youngest of viewers engaged from start to finish. 

And, if you are like me and love bonus features, you will be happy to find this release is filled with them, including a music video, deleted scenes, a fun storybook sequence and even a Shell Creator game.  Even though we have only had this DVD for a few days, the girls and I have already watched it twice, and we plan to watch it again over the weekend with my husband.  If your family loved such films as MADAGASCAR and KUNG FU PANDA, then you will love this new release.  With the holidays fast approaching, this would be a great stocking stuffer idea, or DVD to pick up and share with your family for a fun movie night.
