My Thoughts:
My parents recently upgraded their television to a i3D television, with a Blu-ray player. They asked if I had an 3D movies to try out, and low and behold that same day I received a copy of Tad: The Lost Explorer in the mail to review. This new release is available in Blu-ray, DVD and Blu-Ray 3D. Any way you view this family friendly movie, you will be amazed at the animation.
So, this past weekend we took the girls to visit my parents, and brought along this movie. At first, I wasn't sure if the girls would like it, but they couldn't stop watching it, and asked to watch it again on the way home.
Have you ever dreamed of being someone else? Ever saw yourself in another occupation. Well, Tad, the lead character in the movie has. While he is only a construction worker, he dreams of being a famed archaeologist, like his hero Max Mordon. But, when his daydreaming gets him fired, he dreams come to a halt. Or do they?
Mistaken for a real professor, Tad ventures to Peru to find the Lost City of Paititi. It is up to Tad to help Professor Lavrof and his daughter, Sara, voiced by Modern Family's Ariel Winter, to help save the treasure from evil treasure hunters. Along with his trusty dog, Tad also gets help from a cute parrot called Belzoni. Even though Belzoni can't talk, he communicates by holding up signs showing what he is thinking. My daughters got a kick out of this, and both agreed that the parrot was their favorite character of the whole movie, next to Sara. :-)
Overall, this was a fun family friendly movie. I am surprised it hasn't been talked about more. If I hadn't received an email about, I think this would have been overlooked by my family. I can't wait to watch this action packed, laugh out loud movie with the girls this week, as they haven't stopped asking about it. And, I have to admit, I would love to see it again.
Disclosure: I was sent a copy from the vendor in order to write up an honest review. The views shared are mine and mine alone.
