“Just in time for the spookiest of holidays, R.M. Palmer Company has launched their new Halloween website filled with easy-to-make candy-inspired recipes, kid-friendly crafts and inexpensive party decoration ideas. The chocolatier, known for Making Candy Fun!TM, has focused on helping budget-conscious moms find fun and creative ways to celebrate Halloween without spending a lot of money.”
Halloween is no longer just about what costume your child will wear and the sorting through the candy piles after they return from Trick-or-Treat. Nowadays families are spending time together picking pumpkins and carving them, creating ghoulish crafts, or even incorporating popular Halloween candy into fun kid-friendly recipes. While my girls are still too young to get overly excited about a bag full of candy on Halloween light, they are getting excited about the Halloween decorations and lawn ornaments neighbors in our area are displaying. It seems like every year, Halloween is becoming more about the decoration and festivities than just the candy.
I love crafting and baking with the girls. Many of my inspirations come from other moms, photos I stumble across online and even a brand's website. I don't know about you, but when I think of candy, R.M. Palmer Company always comes to mind. They have been my go-to confectioner for all things Easter, Christmas and especially Halloween. So, I was happy to find the Palmer's website now offering a fun "Halloween Website" filled will creative craft ideas, parent-approved recipes and even party decor ideas.
I keep telling my husband we should through a Halloween party and invite family and friends (including the children). Before the girls, we used to love going to our friend's annual Halloween party. Coming up with a costume idea was the best part. And, when we would arrive, we would admire the fun party decor, including the edible centerpieces. Maybe next year... But, in the meantime, I have been having a blast with the girls crafting and baking in the kitchen, as we create fun Halloween inspired treats and decorations.

My family is loving the new Snappin’ Skulls with Pop Rocks® and big Value Bags. You should have seen Arabella's face when she tried one of the Snappin' Skulls for the first time. Never having tried Pop Rocks, she had no idea the crackling sound she would feel and hear in her mouth. She first had the look of shock on her face, but then started laughing uncontrollably with Savannah, before asking for more. ;-)
Unfortunately, the girls and I have been sick for the past couple of weeks, so we have not been able to try out fun craft and bake ideas I have found on R.M. Palmer Company's Halloween Website. But, thankfully, this past weekend, the girls have started getting more energy and feeling better, so the entire day on Sunday was spent creating fun Halloween crafts and baked treats.
When we were decorating our Not-So Spooky Haunted Sugar Cookie House, the girls were helping me stuff homemade snickerdoodle batter with an assortment of R.M. Palmer Company's candy that was sent for us to sample, before rolling the cookie balls into cinnamon sugar and then baking. I should have known that my taste testers would be tempted more by the unwrapped mouthwatering chocolate, than helping me hide a piece of chocolate inside the snickerdoodle cookies.
They were good for the first few cookies, but after that, they would sneak a candy here and there, until they were full. :-) By the time the cookies were done and ready for sampling, I had to enlist my husband's help, as my girls were "chocolate stuffed" as Savannah called it. :-) They eventually made room in their bellies and had a cookie after dinner. They loved biting into the cookies and finding the soft chocolate treat.
Even though Halloween is a little over a week away, doesn't mean you still don't have time to enjoy all things Halloween with them. Why not start a new tradition and get crafting or baking with your kids. You can find inspiration project ideas on the R.M. Palmer Company, like I did, or brainstorm with your kids. I can't wait to hear how you incorporate candy into craft and recipe ideas. And, if you still need to pick up candy for the trick-or-treaters, why not consider one of the new big Value Bags from the R.M. Palmer Company? Not only will you save $$ on Halloween candy, but who knows, maybe you will be known to the neighborhood kids as the must visit house on Halloween because of the great candy you hand out. :-)
