ChargerGenie

Have you heard of Indiegogo.com?  If not, and you love support entrepreneurs and their products, then this is a site you will want to check out.  I check out the website every couple of weeks to see what new inventions people are coming up with, in hopes others out their will take the chance and invest in them.  This site reminds of the show on television, Shark Tank, where venture capitalists hear stories from entrepreneurs and decide whether or not they want to invest their money in their product.  While I don't have the $$$ like the sharks do, I do love support fellow entrepreneurs, and watching their dreams become a reality, once they reach the capital they are requesting, and can continue on in the production/roll out phase of their products/services.

While browsing Indiegogo.com a couple of weeks ago, I came across a unique product, the ChargerGenie.  As I was watching the video about the product, which features the mom inventor, Jeannie DeSanctis, I thought to myself, why didn't I think of this. :-)  I can't tell you how many times I have traveled for work and pleasure and found myself, just like Jeannie DeSanctis, carrying along a Ziploc bag full of charges and adapters, so that I could charge all my tech gadgets.  And, I think hotels like to stress you out, by not having enough outlets available to charge all your gadgets.  For me, I will have my phone charging beside the bed in one outlet, my iPad next to the television charging in another, and then my computer, iPod, and other gadgets I bring along for the trip, charging where else -- but, in the bathroom.  Then, I have to make a point to jot down a reminder note, so that I pick up each item before checkout.  On a few occasions, I forgot to get my iPod that I had charging next to the window in a hotel, and had to call and see if someone turned it in.  No such luck on each occasion -- so, I had to invest again in this product.

I knew that I wasn't alone in this frustration, as I continually talk to other moms, bloggers and business travelers, who always seem to have more tech gadgets that need to be charged all at once, than there are outlets for.  And, as I watched this video about ChargeGenie, I liked how Jeannie DeSanctis brought up the point that this charging tote would come in handy for teens away at college.  I hadn't thought of this, as I have been out of school for over 10 yrs. now, and back then we only had a few gadgets...our laptops, phones, and maybe an iPod to charge.  But, I do remember back to those when I shared a dorm room with a roommate and only had one wall with 2 outlets on it to use -- which I used to plug in a telephone, refrigerator, desk lamp and clock.

So, what is the ChargerGenie, and how could it come in handy for you, those who travel in your family, and for your teens who will be living away at college?  Here is more information, as well as the video I watched, that shows the ChargeGenie up close, gives a little bit more background on this innovative tote, and introduces you to Jeannie DeSanctis, the business woman and mom behind this amazing invention:

“As a traveling technology executive and a busy mom, I always had trouble finding enough outlets in airports and hotel rooms to charge multiple devices,” said Jeannie DeSanctis, the inventor of ChargerGenie and CEO of TakeCharger.  “With ChargerGenie, I created a bag and power strip combo that solves this problem and more.  It not only charges multiple devices on the go, it also organizes and stores them, creating a low-tech solution for today’s high-tech lifestyles.”

ChargerGenie, which is currently available in three colors (black, red or pink cheetah), looks like a fashion tote but features a “secret weapon” -- six power outlets and two USB ports distributed around the lower perimeter of the bag. In the base of the bag, there is a cord that powers ChargerGenie and can be stored inside when not in use.

Underwriters Laboratories (UL), the industry leader in safety certification, has certified ChargerGenie in the US and Canada.  UL considered ChargerGenie so unique and confirmed that it had never seen anything like it before.  As a result the organization created new testing and amendments specifically for ChargerGenie.

Additional benefits of ChargerGenie include:

·       No More Lost Chargers: Saves money by eliminating the problem of lost chargers, which are frequently left behind in hotel rooms and on the road.
·       Easy Grab-and-Go Travel: Fits over the handle of most rolling suitcases and packs easily into any travel bag.
·       Reduce Clutter: Improves organization by keeping chargers and accessories neatly stored inside ChargerGenie.

ChargerGenie organizes, stores and charges devices and their respective chargers like: mobile phones; tablets and eReaders like iPad Mini and Kindle; iPod devices; Bluetooth headsets; earbuds; headphones, SD Memory cards, personal gaming devices such as PSP, Leapfrog, Nintendo; and more in one convenient place. ChargerGenie can also power and fully charge any size laptop."

Like they say, most entrepreneurs create products out of necessity, and Jeannie DeSanctis did just that.  Not only was she looking for a way to make her life easier, in turn, her ChargerGenie will make so many other people's lives that much easier, either at home or on the go, when outlets are scarce and there is a need for multiple charging outlets.  Think this is a cool must have product?  I bet you do!  Then, why not join me in supporting mom entrepreneur, Jeannie DeSanctis, and her ChargerGenie by heading over to Indigogo.com and contributing your funds to her campaign.  For as little as $35 ($10 additional if needing to be shipped outside of the USA to Canada), Jeannie DeSanctis, with choose a color and send you her ChargerGenie, for you to use in your day to day life and travels.  Don't think you could use it, but know someone who could?  You can still give $35 to the ChargerGenie Indiegogo.com campaign and have it shipped to you to give to a family member or friend, when they begin shipping in October.  With the holidays right around the corner, I see the ChargerGenie as one of those unique gifts that would great to those hard to shop for people on your list.  This is definitely one product they don't own, but will fall in love with it, once they try it out the first time.  So, what are you waiting for, time is ticking away, and you only have 33 days left to show your support for Jeanie DeSanctis' ChargerGenie.  Click here to visit her Indiegogo campaign page to learn more about her product and fund this popular campaign --
