I have always been a fan of iced tea, especially during the warm summer months. What about you? When Memorial Day rolls around in our house, I break out my boxes of Mighty Leaf Iced Tea, which I purchase at my local grocery store, and begin brewing my own homemade iced tea. I don't know about you, but there is something about about homemade iced tea, that really gets you excited about the summer. And, when I brew my own iced tea at home, I don't have to worry about it being too sugary sweet.
After having been introduced to Mighty Leaf Tea a few years back, when I began blogging, I have since had the opportunity to try out a few of their different teas. I have to say my favorite product of Mighty Leaf Tea has to be their assortment of flavored iced teas. If you have never tried Mighty Leaf Tea, you are really missing out. Not only is the flavor amazing, but you will not believe how big the silken tea pouch used to brew at-home iced tea is. Let me just say that is larger than any tea bag I have ever seen. To give you an idea of what I talking about -- picture 3-4 standard tea bags. Now, but them together to make a large 4-piece square, and this is the size tea pouch I am talking about. :-)
So, when I was recently contacted by the folks at Mighty Leaf Tea to do a review of their DIY iced tea brewing kit, which consisted of four of their gourmet iced teas, along with a Takeya flash brew iced tea pitcher and a Takeya glass water bottle, as well as offer one of these DIY iced tea brewing kits (Total value is nearly $60) to one lucky reader, how could I say "No?"
"Mighty
Leaf Iced Teas make it easy to fresh brew a half-gallon of gourmet iced
tea in less than five minutes. DIY(do it yourself) iced tea is frugal
and eco-friendly when compared to bottled iced tea. Unlike most soda,
Mighty Leaf Tea is all natural and free of sugar, calories, and
artificial flavors. So, “Say goodbye to bottles
this summer” and “make DIY Mighty Leaf Iced Tea – it is easy, frugal,
and green.”
You would think because I love brewing my own homemade iced teat at home that I would have a reliable pitcher to brew and store my gourmet iced tea. Unfortunately, that hasn't been the case. I have been using an oversized water pitcher that my grandmother gave me years ago. It served a purpose, as it was large enough to hold around 66 oz. of liquid. And, when I would have family gatherings, it was nice to display on the table, along with sliced lemons around the rim. But, when it came time to put in the refrigerator to chill my freshly brewed iced tea, it would pose a problem. It was too big to fit on the shelf, along with the other drinks. So, I would find myself having to reorganize the shelves just to accommodate the pitcher. This reorganizing took longer than it did to drink the 66 oz. of brewed iced tea. If given the opportunity, I think I could drink all 66 oz. in one day. :-) How about you?
Freshly brewed iced tea at home is not only a great thirst quencher during the hot summer months, but is also great for those looking to cut down on the number of cups of coffee consumed in a day. And, with the different gourmet iced tea flavors offered by Mighty Leaf Teas, iced tea fans like myself, will love sampling each to find their favorite flavor. For me, I can't get enough of the Mighty Leaf Ginger Peach Iced Tea (this is also a favorite amongst Mighty Leaf consumers). I love the pairing of sweet peach with ginger. And, while brewing, it really makes the kitchen smell amazing! :-)
The three other iced tea flavors available from Mighty Leaf Tea include:
Sunburst Green Iced Tea -- This iced tea has a great citrus flavor, which goes well with the ever popular Chinese green tea flavor.
Calypso Mango Iced Tea -- Fans of Mango will go crazy for this flavorful iced tea. This is my husband's favorite flavor, as he loves the rich, yet sweet flavor of the green tea and mango combined.
Organic Black Iced Tea -- For those who like their iced tea the simple way, without any added flavors, you will love this iced tea from Mighty Leaf Tea. With a dark amber hue, it will have you reaching to pour another glass!
Overall, I have to say that reviewing the DIY Iced Tea Brewing Kit from Mighty Leaf Tea, has been one of my favorite reviews in quite some time. Not only did it satisfy my craving for great tasting home brewed iced tea, but it also finally solved my problem with a pitcher to store my freshly brewed iced tea in, thanks to the Takeya Iced Tea Pitcher. And, as an added bonus, I get to bring my iced tea with me on errands with the girls, with the Takeya Glass Bottle I was also sent. :-)
So, with summer in full swing, why not pick up a box or two of Mighty Leaf Tea's iced teas to brew at home? They make for a great alternative to serving guests coffee at gatherings or when you have your girlfriends over to chat. :-)

ReplyDeleteFor iced tea, I like to add about 5 regular black tea bags to a gallon-sized sun-tea jar, along with a couple of flavored tea bags. After brewing in the sun for a couple of hours (or more), it's great over ice. I'd love to try it with Mighty Leaf's Ginger Peach tea.
