"Fans of award-winning children's entertainer Sukey Molloy's televised videos on BabyFirst  can look forward to the July 30 release of Sukey's Circle! Vol. 3: Mini Shows, a bilingual DVD comprised of all 15 of Sukey's made-for-TV mini episodes. (PlayMove&Sing, Inc., $15.99, run time 33 minutes, for ages 2 - 5).  BabyFirst is broadcast nationwide on DirecTV, Dish, Comcast, and cable networks such as OneLink and Sky Angel, in addition to being broadcast throughout Europe, Asia, and Latin America.

Each Sukey's Circle! Vol. 3: Mini Shows episode is presented in both Spanish and English and is imbued with the gentle, magical atmosphere and up-close, personal style that has become Sukey Molloy's calling card.  Since 2005, Sukey's DVDs and CDs have been honored with Parents' Choice, NAPPA, Children's Music Web, Preferred Choice, Creative Child, and Mom's Choice Awards.

Throughout Sukey's Circle! Vol. 3: Mini Shows, Sukey Molloy exudes a sense of fun, wonder, and joy, while presenting age-appropriate lyrics, rhythmic melodies, and colorful images that young children can easily grasp.  Using live action footage and colorful felt animation, Sukey, with her lovable "Sunshine Family" friends Sunny and Tick Tock, models simple, realistic music-and-movement play activities that encourage participation, learning, and thoughtful quiet time.

Sukey Molloy explains, "All three of my Sukey's Circle! DVDs are purposefully created to be gently paced, soothing, and intimate, providing what I refer to as 'alternative viewing' for young children.  In my Mini Shows, the tempo is a little slower, and I use lots of repetition because I feel it's the optimum way for children to both participate and relax.  I am concerned about the amount of time young children spend viewing electronics and about the fast tempo in much of today's programming.  For my videos on BabyFirst and in my Sukey's Circle! Vol. 3: Mini Shows, I wanted to shorten viewing time by using briefer video lengths and to present a cheerful, comforting, slower paced program style."

While Sukey Molloy's lyrics and melodies express a sweet, childlike nuance, she doesn't compromise when it comes to musical integrity and production values.  Joining Sukey as co-producer for all her recorded music is Grammy-winner Larry Alexander, who has worked with some of the biggest stars in the music business, including Diana Ross (six albums), Bruce Springsteen, Willie Nelson, Bon Jovi, and David Bowie, to name but a few.

Sukey Molloy's award-winning body of work includes the CDs I Am Sleepy! with Sukey Molloy (2012, Parents' Choice Silver Honor Award), I Am Happy! with Sukey Molloy (2012, Creative Child CD of the Year Award, Mom's Choice Gold Award, Preferred Choice Award), I Like to Sing! with Sukey Molloy (2007, NAPPA Honors Award), and Circle Songs! with Sukey Molloy (2005, Children's Music Web Award, Parent to Parent Adding Wisdom Award), as well as two previous Sukey's Circle! DVDs (2009 and 2010, NAPPA Honors Award, Mom's Choice Gold Award, Preferred Choice Award, NAPPA Rising Star Commendation).

My Thoughts:

Just the other day, I shared a review on recent BabyFirst TV shows now available on DVD from Mill Creek Entertainment.  In my review, I talked about how much BabyFirst has helped both my daughters with their developmental and learning skills.  Savannah can now count up to 20, knows her colors, shapes and so much more.  As for Arabella, she is learning fun songs, that are adding words to her growing vocabulary, as well as can point out different body parts.  While the shows included on the Mill Creek Entertainment DVDs are fun and educational to watch, they mainly cover the animated television series from this cable channel for babies and young children.

If you are familiar with BabyFirst TV, then you know that there are so many other non-animated series for little ones to enjoy.  One of my girls' and my favorite show's is Sukey's Circle.  If the catchy theme song will not get you, then Sukey Molloy's amazing voice and ability to teach little ones rhythmic melodies that capture a child's attention and get them excited about learning and imagining with Sukey.  Unlike other children's shows that use song and colorful animation to teach children, Sukey Molloy's is quite different.  Her soothing voice, paired with her slow paces songs, with lyrics repeating over and over again to reinforce what she is trying to teach, make for a calm, nurturing environment, that babies and toddlers can feel comfortable watching and learning with.  I know for my girls that if the music and characters are loud and fast moving, then they are more likely to just get up and dance, rather than slow down and really pay attention to what is being taught.

I have to admit, when I first say Sukey Molloy's show on BabyFirst TV for the first time, I didn't know what to make of it.  I had caught the tale end of the mini show, and saw her rolling around on the floor, imitating how a ball rolls.  I have to say that I was amazed at how flexible she was, but then she began to sing, and I was blown away.  Her melodic voice could sooth even the fussiest of babies -- I know as she helped calm down Arabella who was crying due to teething.  Arabella stopped long enough to listen to Sukey sing her song, followed by the closing theme song.  I made a point to catch a full mini show, and from that point on was a fan of Sukey Molloy's.  And, once my girls sat down to match the show, and saw how Sukey Molloy paired music and movement and playful activities, which encourage learning, participation and even quiet time, they, too became instant fans.

As I am sitting here thinking about the DVD we have been watching daily since receiving a few weeks ago, I am reciting the Hello Everyone, It so nice to see you theme song, with the xylophone chimes. ;-)  If you have seen the show, then you know what I am talking about. :-)

Sukey along with her "Sunshine family" friends, Sunny and Tick Tock, will have your little ones pointing to the different parts of their bodies, or singing "Twinkle Twinkle" like my girls like to do.  Most of Sukey Molloy's mini shows are about 2 1/2 minutes each, which make viewing and repeating each show to reinforce learning fun for kids.  My girls sat through all 15 mini shows which make up this new DVD, before requesting a few of their favorite mini shows to be repeated.  Like I said earlier, we have been watching this upcoming DVD release daily since receiving.  I don't mind, as I can see the girls learning so many wonderful things, thanks to the oh so talented Sukey Molloy.  I can't wait to add more of these DVDs from Sukey Molloy, to my children's ever growing BabyFirst TV collection.  She really does make learning fun, in a unique way that both parents and children will enjoy.
