My Thoughts:
The kind folks at Random House sent along three books for me to share with the girls, and we had such a great time reading them. I don't know about your children, but when my girls see their favorite television and feature film characters appear in books we read, they get so excited. So, when they saw the two Monsters University books, along with the SpongeBob Squarepants story/sticker book.
Out of the three books, Savannah's favorite was SURF’S UP, SPONGEBOB!/RUNAWAY ROADTRIP, as she just loves stickers. I recently started a sticker album with her, and have a handful of bloggers who exchange stickers with me each month, so that she gets an assortment of stickers. If you were to come to our house right now, you would see a couple different wallpapered walls decorated with some of Savannah's prized stickers. And, when you would pass by the wall, Savannah would make a point to show off her sticker collection. :-) Since receiving the SpongeBob book, her wall sticker mural is covered with SpongeBob and friends stickers. :-) When Savannah is not playing with the 50+ stickers included in this book, she enjoys having me read the two stories that make up this book. With summer fast approaching, this is a great book to share with little ones who love SpongeBob, as it shows what he loves to do for summer fun activities in such a silly way. Savannah kept pointing out the different things, like surfing, and saying she wanted to do this.
As for Arabella, she is a fan of Monster's Inc. and loved the two books, ROARING RIVALS and MONSTER HIDE AND SEEK, which were also sent to us to enjoy. Arabella loves flap books, so the MONSTER HIDE AND SEEK was her favorite, and one she plays with daily. When I am not reading these storybooks to her, Arabella loves to sit in her rocking chair and flip through the books, pointing out the Monster's Inc. characters. I love to watch her read to her dolls and stuffed animals, and hear her pronounce Mike and Sully perfectly. :-)
I am so happy to see these new titles from Random House being released this month, and can't wait to pick up the other books, including the Dora the Explorer and Cat in the Hat books, to share with them this summer, as part of our summer reading list. :-)
So, if you are looking for some fun new books to share with your little ones, why not consider the above books from Random House? I know your little ones will go crazy for the books, especially the Monsters University ones, as this movie will be released to theaters the end of June. My family has been waiting for this sequel. How about yours?
