My Thoughts:

From friends with differences to unlikely friends, this recent Scholastic Storybook Treasures DVD is a joy to watch with little ones.  My girls are both going through their terrible two's -- well Arabella is only 18 months, but acts just like Savannah. :-)  So, I have been trying to find books and DVDs that not only talk about sibling rivalry, but also about friendship and how you may not agree with one another at times, but how comprimise and talking it out, is what keeps a friendship going strong.

I have always been a fan of the Scholastic Storybook Treasures, and love sharing the assortment of stories that make up each DVD collection.  This new DVD release deals with friendship, tolerance and respect, and will keep young children engaged throughout each short onscreen story.  Parents have the option of having captions appear at the bottom of the screen, so that beginner readers can practice reading and learning new words. 

 

My girls have a nice collection going of Bink & Gollie books, that they have me read to them, so seeing one of the classic Bink & Gollie stories come to life on the screeen, was so much fun!  While they liked the other 3 short stories, this one was their favorite.  As for me, I enjoyed the bonus features, which included interviews with the authors and illustrators.

So, if you are fans of Bink & Gollie, or love Scholastic Storybook Treasures, you will want to check out this recent release from New Video.  It would also make for a great DVD to share with your children if you homeschool, and are looking for a fun way to talk about friendship, tolerance and respect with your children.
