From a balloon-filled sky to the deep blue sea, Pinwheel reminds readers
of the beauty all around them. Let the fun begin with every spin!"
My Thoughts:
This is by far my daughters' favorite new board book, as it not only offers appealing designs, but lets them spin a wheel on the side of the book to bring the pinwheels to life. Both girls love seeing the colors spinning around.
We love Yoon's "Pinwheel" so much that I ordered her other book, "Kaleidoscope" from Amazon for the girls. Like Pinwheel, this book also uses turn wheels to show visually appealing scenes. Little ones will enjoy Yoon's book, as they are easy to understand with her use of lyrical writing. And, the use of interactive designs will get them excited to see what is on the next page, and want to read this book over and over again. My oldest daughter loves to grab this book off the bookshelf and sit there and bring the pinwheels to life. I have even caught her a few times trying to teach Arabella the colors, that spin around on each page.
This is definitely one book both parents and children will enjoy reading and interacting with. And, I am betting it will become a family favorite, as it has ours, as the the bright colors and visual effects of the spinning pinwheels are truly a site to see. :-)
