One of my favorite parts of the day is when the girls eat. Yes, it is always messy. But, I can help but sit back and watch the two of them interact together, as they enjoy each others company and have breakfast and lunch together. Savannah has been acting like the big sister and helping teach Arabella how to use utensils -- which is so cute to watch. :-)
The other day I switched things up, as they usually request the same plates for their meals -- a Penguin plate for Savannah and a butterfly plate for Arabella. But, this time, I served their lunch on the Nuby Flower Child Toddler Bowl and Plate that I was sent to review. These two items, along with the Flower Child Fork and Spoon make up the Flower Child Feeding Set from Nuby. The first thing that caught the girls' eye from this new feeding set was the bright pink and green colors. Savannah loved how the bowl and plate looked like flowers.
As they gathered around their table for lunch, I placed the plate and bowl in front of them and handed Savannah the fork and Arabella the spoon (her utensil of choice right now). The girls took turns passing the bowl and plate around, giving each other a chance to look at it, feel it, and take a ravioli from it. Here are just a few photos I took of their lunch date using their new Flower Child Feeding Set from Nuby:
Cute, huh? I really had a great time watching them eat and enjoy these new products from Nuby. And, as a Mom one of the features that I thought was great about both the plate and bowl is that they are microwave safe. I don't think I have any toddler feeding plates or bowls that I can stick in the microwave. Instead, I find myself using one of our plates or bowls to warm their food, and then pour into their toddler plates/bowls -- which means having to wash an extra item. :-( But, now that I can put this set in microwave, I can cut down on the extra plate/bowl during each feeding. You can use the bowl and plate with both warm and cold foods. The girls always ask me to fill the Flower Child bowl with their afternoon snack, and then sit together taking turns picking from the bowl.
After continual use I can see that this feeding set is made well, as it hasn't faded, warped from warming food in the microwave, and doesn't get hot when used in microwave. I will definitely be picking up a few more of these feeding sets for the girls, and tossing some of the others we have held on to, which have seen better days.
Do you have child who is transitioning to solid food? Why not make the transition fun by surprising them with this or other Feeding Sets from Nuby? Like I said, you get the plate, bowl and fork and spoon with each set. So, no need to try and mix and match items. :-)
