As I have shared on numerous occasions, I battled stage 2 cancer in 2008, and was told by doctors that I would never be able to have children due to the high dose chemo and radiation treatments I would be undergoing.  I could try and freeze my eggs, which would have cost ten of thousands of dozen for the process, storage and later implantation -- but, this was not an option because we were going to be faced with unexpected medical bills for treatment and medicine that my health insurance wouldn't cover.  And, we had no idea the outcome and what the short and long-term side effects would be.  So, I had to put my dream of becoming a Mom on hold, to fight the battle at hand.  Now, almost five years later -- they will deem me cancer-free and in remission the end of May (can't wait!) -- I am the mother to two beautiful and healthy girls.  There are still days I have to pinch myself to let me know that I am alive and that this is real, as it just seems too good to be true.  One minute you find your world turn upside down and fighting to survive, and the next you are cradling one of God's most precious gifts in your arms.  My life can't get any better than this!
