Did you tune in to watch the Oscars, which aired on ABC back on February 24th? According to the The Nielsen Company "the “Oscars Red Carpet Live” pre-show, the “The Oscars” telecast and “Jimmy Kimmel Live: After the Oscars,” ABC’s Oscar programming on Sunday reached 84.745 million unique television viewers across the U.S. (unduplicated Viewers 2+ watching 1-minute or more during the broadcasts), up over last year by +5% (84.745 million vs. 80.770 million)."
If you did tune in to the Oscars, what did you think of Seth MacFarlane's hosting? Did he leaving you in stitches, or did you think he went too far with some of his comments, including the "Boob Song"? I thought he did a great job, and that he breathed a new life into the Oscars, which have dragged these past few years. Even though I tune in mainly to see what the celebrities are wearing, it was nice to share some laughs with my girlfriends, who had joined me for our annual Oscar Viewing Party.
Even though the Oscars are over, people are still talking about this hits and misses of the fashion for the night. And, what better way to sum up the fashions and share great photos of the night than by picking up the new PEOPLE Magazine 2013 Oscars Double Issue, available on newsstands until March 18, 2013. I have always been a fan of PEOPLE Magazine for their special issues, including their Sexiest Man Alive and the PEOPLE Magazine 2013 Oscars Double Issue. So, you know I was one of the first in time on March 1st, to pick up this double issue when I was shopping at Target. :-)
I was not surprised to see Anne Hathaway and Charlize Theron make the cover of
PEOPLE Magazine’s 2013 Oscars Double Issue, as they really stole the show fashion-wise. I couldn't wait until the girls went to bed last night, so that I could make some tea, put up my feet and read the PEOPLE Magazine’s 2013 Oscars Double Issue, which is available for a limited time, cover to cover, without interruption. :-)
What a way to unwind after a crazy day with the girls. As I flipped through this celebrity filled double issue from PEOPLE Magazine, I was able to relive moments of Oscar night, by enjoying the amazing fashion and styles of this evening, with the 36 pages of Oscar gossip, gowns and parties! If you watched the Oscars, especially the Red Carpet walk, which celebrities caught your eye with their fashion choice? Which ones were misses for you? Like I shared in a previous Oscar post, I was especially looking forward to seeing Michelle Williams, Charlize Theron, Anne Hathaway, Reese Witherspoon, and Gwyneth Paltrow, to name a few. And, when these stylish ladies took to the Red Carpet, they didn't disappoint. They were all stunning, and worthy of the photo attention they received. So, I was not surprised to see photos of them wind up in the pages of PEOPLE Magazine’s 2013 Oscars Double Issue.
If you are a fan of celebrity style and fashion, then you will want to pick up a copy of the
PEOPLE Magazine’s 2013 Oscars Double Issue, available for a limited time on newsstands, and at your favorite local Target (where I picked up my copy). I don't know about you, but I find it therapeutic to unwind after a crazy day with the girls, but reading PEOPLE Magazine. Not only do they do an amazing job at including celebrities dish and photos (Note that this special issue included news on the upcoming nuptials of Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux), but they are a great source of fashion and style ideas. Being a stay-at-home mom, I find that I lack the up-to-date knowledge of what is in style because I am not in the workforce and shopping for clothes all the time. But, with each and every issue of PEOPLE Magazine I read, I can see what the celebrities are wearing and find similar styles when I shop for seasonal attire.
Now that I am done reading the PEOPLE Magazine’s 2013 Oscars Double Issue cover to cover (a few times), I will be dishing with my girlfriends this week at our playgroup meetup, to hear their reactions on who made the front cover, and the amazing Oscar fashion coverage PEOPLE Magazine included in this special issue. Can't wait!!!
And, to wrap up my Oscar coverage, I wanted to announce the winner of my $20 Target Gift Card, which ran alongside my pre-Oscar coverage post. Congrats to Donna on winning this giveaway. :-)
