My Thoughts:

I have always been a fan of Candice Cameron Bure, since she was on the hit television series, Full House, which I watched religiously growing up, and even years later when reruns aired.  She is one of the few child actors, which didn't get involved with drugs, crime, etc. and it is always nice to see actors I enjoyed from my childhood still acting in movies and television today.

I missed this movie when it aired on Hallmark last year, so was eager to get my hands on a copy when it arrived on DVD a few weeks ago.  If you are a fan of Hallmark movies, then you know that most are predictable, yet heartwarming -- and, all are great to watch and enjoy with the whole family.  Well, this movie was predictable from the beginning, but still kept you engaged to see how the relationship between Megan and Ben.

What would you do if you lost your dog, and found out another family adopted it from the pound?  Would you ever consider co-adoption?  Well, this is what happens in Puppy Love, as Ben's dog gets lose while he is away playing pro baseball.  Upon his return, he finds out that Megan, a single mom, and her daughter Caitlin adopted Jake, which they now call Prince.  When Ben sees how much Caitlin loves the dog, and that it would be hard to take him away from her, he comes up with the idea to co-parent.  The custody terms are simple - while he is away playing baseball, Megan and Caitlin will watch Jake.  And, when Ben is not on the road for work, he gets Jake.  This is all well and good, until Ben and Megan begin to develop feelings for one another.

But, Megan is a single mom, who doesn't want to complicate her new life, as they just moved to this town.  After just one day, she tries to ignore Ben when he comes for Jake each week, and vise versa.  But, you can't deny true love, and, well you know how this movie will end.... :-)

Overall, I have to say that this was a very enjoyable movie.  Dog lovers will go crazy for Jake, who is a big, furry dog, you just want snuggle up with.  I can see why Caitlin fell in love with him at the pound.  Yes, the storyline of this romance may be cheesy, but this is what you expect from Hallmark movies.  When the movie is over, you can't help but smile, having just seen a happy ending. :-)

Disclosure: I was sent a copy of this DVD from the vendor in order to write up an honest review.  The views above are mine and mine alone.
