My Thoughts:

Every now and again you need to gather your girlfriends and either have a girls night in, or go out for dinner and drinks.  And, with the girls and I having been sick with food poisoning and the stomach flu these past few weeks, I really needed to have some pampering and girl talk time.  Because Arabella has still been under the weather, I invited a handful of my closest girlfriends over for tapas and drinks this past Friday night, and to also watch Cirque du Soleil: Worlds Away (which is now available on DVD and Blu-Ray).  We were all excited to see this movie, as he missed it when it was in theaters.

In addition to watching the movie, I was also send a swag bag of goodies from Various Cirque du Soleil shows to enjoy.  Prior to the girls coming over, Savannah helped me spread out the goodies on her table, and even had fun trying on one of the masks.

There was also a large red clown nose that my husband claimed as his, and spent the weekend playing around with the girls with it.  Too bad he wouldn't let me share a photo of him as a clown - as it really was a hilarious scene, and had the girls in stitches all weekend. :-)

I will not lie, there was a bag of gourmet popcorn with chocolate drizzle that was included in the swag, that I took out and kept for myself, as a late night snack.  Come on, how could a chocoholic (and popcorn fan) not want to sneak this tasty treat all for themselves?  It sure did come in handy this past week, when Arabella was getting up 3-4 times in the night, leaving me wide awake and passing time catching up on DVR programs.  Mmm, I am getting hungry just thinking about this popcorn -- if only I had more. ;-)

So, has was the movie you ask?  This was the first time Cirque du Soleil turned one of their circus performances into a full-length film -- and, it was amazing.

I was happy to see James Cameron of the popular Titantic film, along with Andrew Adamson, as the minds behind this captivating story.

Even though this was a "girls only" screening, I ended up watching it the next day with my husband, as it was that good. He is not usually a fan of love stories, but loves Cirque du Soleil shows.  The acrobatics and musical accompaniments really made this a breathtaking site to see. And, the bold and vivid colors of the costumes and backgrounds really made the scenes come to life.

I loved the use of the water scenes, as I watched the characters leap, fly through the air and even swim.

Families will enjoy this 3D adventure of a young couple who are separated, and set out to find one another.  I have seen it twice so far, and have plans to watch it again with family and friends, when they come for Easter dinner.  If you have never experienced a Cirque du Soleil performance in person, I know you will be blown away with the acrobatics, dance and music that these popular shows have to offer.  You will walk away being moved by the performances you see, as you wonder how in the world most of the gorgeous acrobatics are done, as they look so effortless.  The grand finale, which features Mia and the Aerialist, whom she has been chasing through the whole film, is a spectacle in and of itself, and one worse watching over and over again.  :-)

With Easter right around the corner, this would be a great movie to pick up and enjoy when family comes to visit for dinner, or as an Easter basket gift for your children.  I am so glad I finally had a chance to see this film, and can't wait for future Cirque du Soleil live shows to come to our area, so that we can go and share this amazing experience with our girls. And, when you buy this new release, you will receive 20% off Cirque du Soleil live shows -- information regarding this special limited time offer can be found inside the film case.

Disclosure: I was sent a copy of this movie, along with swag from the vendor in order to write up an honest review.  The views above are mine and mine alone.
