Synopsis:
"Sid and his classmate Gabriela enter a contest and win the exclusive opportunity to visit a new modern science museum before it opens to the public. There the kids meet a quirky
scientist, voiced by special guest star Christopher Lloyd (Back to the Future), who has designed robot tour guides of the future!
Then one of the robots goes haywire and the grand opening is in jeopardy! It is up to Sid and his friends to work as a team to find the rogue robot and save the day! "
My Thoughts:
If you follow my blog, then you know that my girls are fans of Sid the Science Kid, and watch it daily on PBS Kids. So, when I heard that NCircle Entertainment was releasing Sid the Science Kid: The Movie on DVD, I had to pick up a copy and surprise them with it. And, this past weekend, while they were recovering from the stomach flu, we watched this new release.
Even though Savannah has spent the week laying around on the couch, she did find the energy every morning to get up and dance along to the theme song to Sid the Science Kid on television, and bopped along to the songs throughout each episode. But, on Saturday, I could tell she was feeling much better, as she stood for most of the movie, and couldn't stop dancing around with Sid and his classmates.
If you are not familiar with Sid the Science Kid, it is a popular PBS Kids animated series that follows a curious boy named Sid, who always asks the question, "Why?" to his parents, teacher and classmates -- usually about science related topics. And, during the entire episode the topic is examined and everyone gives their take on "Why?" until the real reason is brought up. My girls, and so many other children love watching this entertaining educational series, while also learning in the process, which as a mom I love.
In this new full-length film, Sid and his classmates learn the importance of teamwork, as they try to find the missing rogue robot that has gone missing from a new modern science museum. Will Sid and his friends save the day? Don't worry, I will not spoil the ending for you. You will have to pick up a copy of Side the Science Kid: The Movie, to find out for yourself. :-)
