"The NEW musical storybook app for iPad, Mibblio, has just launched their first interactive app! Now kids can read, sing, learn and play music all at the same time!
Mibblio is the first interactive musical/storybook app of its kind.
With an intuitive design, Mibblio is easy to use and creates a world
where children can read, sing, learn and play music all at the same
time.
Inside Mibblio is a world of beautiful mibblets - illustrated story-songs that invite children to read, sing and jam while understanding the layers of developing music. Targeted to children ages 3-8, kids can listen to and build upon a song while simultaneously having fun and improving reading skills.
A mix of classic songs such as “On Top of Spaghetti” and “The Wheels on the Bus” alongside new, instant classics like “Monkey Jamboree,” are
written, illustrated, sung and performed by accomplished artists such
as Grammy-nominated mandolinist, Andy Statman and Grammy-winning drummer
Marty Beller.
Now
parents can watch and listen as children understand the layers of
developing music and learn the basics of creating a song, while
simultaneously improving reading skills. "

My Thoughts:
You should see our iPad -- well, I should say Savannah's iPad, as she uses it more than we do now. :-) I can't get over how many apps she has, and how each provides hours of enjoyment for her. Only any given day she can be sitting down having a storybook read to her, coloring or creating a virtual masterpiece, or most recently learning how to count and recite her ABC's. It astounds me as how much she has learned just by using all the amazing apps available for toddlers/kids. And, now there is a new about called Mibblio, that launched last week, that is a musical book app for kids.
While browsing new app releases for the week, I stumbled across Mibblio and thought it would be a fun app for Savannah to try, as she and Arabella are currently taking a music class with us on the weekends, and she loves learn and sing new songs like "The Wheels on the Bus," which I saw this app had. With all apps, I try them out first to make these are age appropriate and that they are not filled with in-app ads or pop-ups asking you to buy more add-ons. I have to say, I was hooked with all that this app has to offer. I loved how it introduces children to a variety of musical instruments, offers a piano to tab away on, and even lets children strum string instruments like a guitar or violin. This ended up being Savannah's favorite favorite part of the app. I wonder if we will have a musician on our hands? :-)
Here are a couple of graphics from the app, just to give you a feel for what is in store for your child once you download this new app, which is available in the iTunes for FREE.
You can buy additional songs, also known as mibblets for only $2.99 each. These mibblets include:
Old MacDonald
Wheels on the Bus
On Top of Spaghetti
Mashed Potato Monster Gang
Superhero Vacation
Monkey Jamboree
Sunny Side Up
Millie and Her Curling, Whirling Hair
Wibblesmacks
So far I have downloaded the first five from the list above to share with Savannah, and will purchase and download the remaining ones next week as a surprise for her. :-) In the meantime, Savannah and Arabella are enjoying this new musical app, as they learn about music, how to create a song, all while enjoying story/songs being read to them. Many of the mibblets are class songs that even parents will recognize, with a few like "Wibblesmacks" and "Superhero Vacation" that are catchy, and will have you singing along. Geared towards children ages 3-8 yrs. old, this app is perfect to load to your iPad, and have on hand to keep children entertained. Who knew that learning about music could be so fun? Mibblio is so easy to use, that even the younger children in your house will want to give it a try -- and will be hooked, like Savannah and Arabella are.
