My Recent Mega Bloks® Barbie® MommyParties Experience (Review)

I recently had the opportunity to play host to a fun MommyParties sponsored by Mega Bloks® Barbie® Party for my daughter, niece and a ten of their friends.  Remember the recent blizzard that hit the East Coast?  Well, while we were getting hit with 28 inches of snow here in CT, I had a bunch of girls between the ages of 5-10 yrs. old age at my home, enjoying the new Mega Bloks Barbie product line.  

Even though this is not the first time I had heard about the Mega Bloks Barbie line, it was the first time that my daughter, niece and their friends would try out firsthand such products as the Barbie® Build 'n Style Pool Party and Mega Bloks® Build 'n Style accessories, which included the ever popular build 'n style ice cream cart and build 'n style fashion cart.

It is always nice to see Mega Bloks come out with girl-inspired building bloks sets, as it offers girls the opportunity to get creative, while playing with building bloks sets like boys.  We have been fans of Mega Bloks for years now, and make a point to get down on the floor and play with their Mega Bloks building sets, and praise them when they build things like a pet shop, flower shop, convertible, just to name a few.

So, when I was chosen to host the Mega Bloks Barbie party by MommyParties, both the girls and I were over the moon excited, as we love Barbie and this new Build 'n Style product line.  Over the holidays, Santa surprised Savannah with the pool and convertible Build 'n Style sets, which she had a blast making with her Daddy, and still plays with to this day.

You should have seen the box of goodies that was sent to me for our party.  And, to make the party extra special, I made Barbie cupcakes, served up a fun Barbie inspired punch and had all the girls bring their favorite Barbie doll to show off.  As the snow fell, all you could hear in our house was giggles and a bunch of girls and their moms having fun.  When we weren't all on the floor putting together our ice cream carts and fashion stands, we were having a blast playing fun games.  I held a pictionary game where I paired moms and daughters up to compete to win the Mega Bloks Barbie Build 'n Style Luxury Mansion I was sent for being a host. I think this was the highlight of the party, and one game the girls took serious, as they each wanted to win this mansion to add to their Build 'n Style collection, which they all planned to add to. :-)

The only negative comments that each of the girls and their moms had was that several of the tiny pieces wouldn't stay put and could easily be lost if not stored properly.  And, at times putting together the mini playsets was difficult for the younger girls.  Many of the moms found themselves helping them to put the playsets together after the girls grew frustrated, especially when it came time to add the stickers.  But, once the playsets were made, the girls had a blast playing with them.

And, with Easter right around the corner, these Mega Bloks Barbie® playsets would make for a great gift to surprise that little girl in your life who loves Barbie, just as much as you do. :-)
