One of my weaknesses besides chocolate is cookies. Yes, I know I am supposed to be on a diet to lose the extra baby weight I gained between 2010 and 2011, but it was hard to resist cookies I was recently sent for review from Sweet Andy's Cookies. Just look at the sampler box I was sent to enjoy with my family:
Now, if you received this box of extra-large cookies, wouldn't you want to sample each? :-) Well, I sure did! And, this past week, my family and I spent each evening trying out a new Sweet Andy's Cookies, in hopes to find our favorite of all the cookies were were sent to review. Being a Foodie, who is especially partial to sweet treats and baked goods, I have sampled my fair share of cookies over the years. My husband and I have even gone on cookie hops in Boston, MA and NYC, trying out different cookies that other cookie lovers have raved about. So, when I received this box of cookies from Sweet Andy's, I couldn't wait to see how these cookies compared to others I have tried in the past.
I have to say that the first thing that caught my eye was just how big these cookies were. They are not your average cookie you would bake at home, or find at a local bake sale. No, no, no! These are extra-large cookies, that carry a bit of weight to them. They reminded me of a cookie I had tried and have continued to buy over the years from a bakeshop in NYC. The only difference with these cookies (before tasting them) was that these cookies from Sweet Andy's are more reasonable priced, whereas the ones from NYC ran me about $36 for 5 cookies, not including shipping and handling (when I would order them online).
The true test came when we started doing a taste-test of each. The kinds folks at Sweet Andy's Cookies sent me the following popular cookie flavors to try -- Chocolate Chip, Lemon, Triple Chip, Chocolate with Peanut Butter, Chocolate, Mint Chip and Oatmeal Raisin. We ended up tasting these cookies in that order -- one cookie each day. You would think after the second or third day that we would get tired of eating cookies, but we didn't. Instead, my husband and I found ourselves looking forward to this sweet treat at night time. And, because there are only four of us in the house, and six cookies in a bag, that left us with two extra each night. We would wait for the girls to go to bed, and then make a hot cup of tea or hot chocolate and then indulge in the two extra cookies from Sweet Andy's Cookies. :-)
By the time Day 6 of our Sweet Andy's Cookies taste test rolled around, and we sampled our last cookie from the sampler box I was sent, we were left with a predicament. Not only did we run out of delicious tasting cookies, but we all found it hard to choose our favorite cookie out of the six. Each of the cookies was filled with some many wonderful ingredients, including whole chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, etc. that each bite you took was packed with flavor. And, like potato chips, once you started on a cookie, you couldn't stop eating it -- even if it felt like it weighed over a pound. :-) You would think I would feel guilty being on a diet and all, as I devoured my two Sweet Andy's Cookies each night for six days straight -- but, I wasn't. :-) Instead, I was happy to have stumbled across this amazing bakeshop and had the opportunity to share these tasty oversized cookies with them.
Yes, I may have to add in a few extra days of exercise and cut out a few calories in the coming weeks, to lose the few pounds I gained enjoying these cookies -- but, it was well worth it. :-) And, I can say without a doubt, that we have now found our go-to online bakeshop, when we are craving freshly baked cookies that are too die for. :-)
Argg, my mouth is watering just thinking about Sweet Andy's Cookies, as I wonder when the next time I will be able to sink my teeth into one of these extra large cookies. I guess I will be asking the kids and my husband for some for Mother's Day. :-) That is...if I can wait that long!!! Now, to decide which flavors to order from the product offering below:
