A couple of weeks ago, I shared a Spotlight on Mom interview with of Fairytale Wishes, Inc. with you. If you missed my post, click here to read it now -- http://www.inspiredbysavannah.com/2013/02/debbie-glickman-of-fairytale-wishes-inc.html. Due to my girls being sick with the flu, and then Arabella has been teething on top of it all with four teeth coming in at once, I had to postpone my review of her fun aromatherapy sprays for kids. Thankfully the girls are feeling better, leaving me now playing catch up with reviews. :-)
Does your child ever felt anxious or nervous about things like summer camp, monsters under the bed, sleeping on their, or about receiving their first visit from the tooth fairy? If you answered yes, then you may want to consider picking up one of the aromatherapy sprays Debbie offers on her website, created especially for kids. The following sprays and their scents available from Fairytale Wishes, Inc. include:
- Sweet Dream Spray (Lavender Scent)
- Monster Repellent (Bubblegum Scent)
- SuperHero Spray (Peppermint Scent)
- Happy Camper Spray (Grape Jelly Scent)
I stumbled across Fairytale Wishes, Inc. while looking for tips and tricks to try and get Savannah to stay and sleep in her own room. Since welcoming Arabella the end of 2011 and having her sleep in the pack n play in our bedtime early on, Savannah has grown accustomed to either climbing into bed with us at night time, or sleeping in the car bed, we set up for her when her sister was in the room with us. But, now that she is getting bigger and Arabella is in her own room, we wanted to start trying to get Savannah in her own room again.
When I saw Debbie's aromatherapy sprays, I thought this would be a fun thing to get and try with Savannah. Debbie graciously sent along a sample for me to try with the girls, which included a little personalized card from Freddy the Frog. After I read the card to them, which explained the purpose of the Sweet Dreams Spray one night at bedtime, I sprayed their pillows with this magic spray and told them it would make them have sweet dreams. Savannah's first reaction was to smell it, and said, "Mom, smells good." She then noticed the glitter that was in the bottle. I told it was twinkle twinkle magic stardust, and she smiled. Then, I said they needed to lay down for the magic spray to work, and shut their eyes. As I sang them a few of their favorite bedtime songs, they nestled themselves into their beds. And, for the first time, in a long time, they fell asleep without any issues. Even though Savannah woke in the night and found her way to our bedroom, she is falling asleep in her bedroom and sleeping longer there. So, I guess it will be a work in progress.
In the midst of trying to get them to bed last week while they were sick and fussy, I had forgot to spray their pillows with the magic Sweet Dreams Spray. But, Savannah quickly reminded me about the spray and took it off the dresser, before saying, "Please, Mom, sweet dream spray." I gave their pillows a few sprays of this aromatherapy spray, and they were finally ready to call it a night and go to bed.
I am so glad that I had the opportunity to try out Debbie's sprays and share her story with you all. And, thanks to her unique line of fun aromatherapy sprays for kids, parents can ease some of their child's anxieties and fears with this calming spray. And, with Easter right around the corner these sprays would make for great Easter Basket surprises. :-)
