Get Relief from Coughs and Congestions with the Kaz Vicks Starry Night Cool Moisture Humidifier (Review)

Has your house been hit by the flu or nasty head cold that has been going around these past couple of months?  During the entire month of November, we kept passing around the nasty head cold.  And, when it seemed like everyone was finally on the mend, it would knock us back down again.  We even had to cancel our daughter, Arabella's 1st birthday party, as a result of everyone being under the weather, and not wanting to pick up or pass along anything else to party goers.

Thankfully, our house is finally rid of the colds, runny noses, sneezing, etc. (Knock on wood).  But, now that the cold winter months are in full force here in New England, the heat is cranked up, in turn making the house dry.  Without the use of a humidifier to put moisture into the air, everyone wakes up with a dry throat and stuffy nose -- not to mention dry, cracked skin.  But, thanks to the new Vicks Starry Night Cool Moisture Humidifier, which was sent to us at the end of  Dec. for review, I have a big improvement in how we sleep and wake.  And, as a bonus, have been able to turn down the thermostat a couple of degrees, due to the added moisture in the air.

My mother used to use Vicks products with my brothers and I when we were little are were sick.  If she wasn't rubbing Vicks on our feet and chests to help break up congestion, she was stashing a baggie of Vicks cough drops in our back packs to help sooth a sore, dry throat from coughing and post nasal drip.  So, when I welcomed our two daughters, I couldn't think of a better brand than Vicks when it came to buying humidifiers, thermometers, etc. to have on hand for them.  If you walk into our home you will find a Vicks humidifier in everyone's bedroom, as well as the family room.  I keep them running to help add moisture to the air, as we also suffer from asthma, and running a cool mist humidifier always seems to make us feel better, and breath a little easier.

And, with two little ones, they are loving the new Starry Night feature to the popular Vicks Cool Moisture Humidifier.  Now, when the lights go out, and the humidifier is turned on for the night, their bedroom ceiling lights up with an array of stars and the moon for them to stare at.  The colors change from green, blue and yellow, and continue to mesmerize the girls each night.  Parents also have the option of running the cool mist humidifier with or without the starry nights illumination.  And, like other Vicks humidifiers, you can add a Vicks VaporPad to the machine to release cooling menthol, eucalyptus oil, etc. into the air.  Seeing that the girls are too young to have me apply Vicks rub to their chests, I love using the Vicks VaporPads, as they also the same relief when the girls breath it in.  Don't worry, it is not overpowering by any means, and will not fill your room with a medicated smell.  Instead, you are left with a pleasant menthol smell that really does open up congested sinus passages, and ease coughs The 1.0 gallon capacity cool mist humidifier is great for medium size rooms, and will operate for  18-24 hours of operation per filling. And, with two speed settings, you can set the speed of the humidifier to suit your child's comfort level.  Oh, and did I mention how quiet this humidifier is?  Both my daughters are light sleepers and would easily wake to our air purifier when it would kick on at night.  But, with the Vicks Starry Night Cool Moisture Humidifier, it is so quiet you almost forget that it is on. :-) And, the girls are not disturbed or woken up in the night when it is running.

Overall, I am very pleased with the new Kaz Vicks Starry Night Cool Moisture Humidifier, and continue to recommend to friends and family who are in search for relief from winter colds, dryness in the house, etc.  So, if your family is suffering from the flu, head congestion or you are just looking to add much needed moisture into your home while the heat is on this winter, why not pick up this or other humidifier products from Vicks?  Like I said, all my humidifiers are from Vicks and last a long time.  And, this humidifier comes with a 3 year warranty.
