My Thoughts:
Have you and family been celebrating Clifford's 50th birthday? Scholastic began celebrating on Sept. 24th of last year with a "Biggest Birthday Party Ever" classroom webcast. Even though my daughters are not in school yet, their cousins filled them in on the all the fun they had with this interactive webcast, when they came to visit for Thanksgiving and saw that I was reviewing Clifford books from Scholastic. Even though I grew up with Clifford, it wasn't until this big birthday blast that I began introducing my daughters to Clifford, the big red dog. I knew they would fall in love with this cute and cuddly dog, and they did!
In addition to reading Clifford stories to them and downloading fun apps from them to play, I couldn't wait to share this upcoming DVD release, "Celebrate with Clifford" with them. They went crazy for the December 2012 broadcast of Clifford's Really Big Movie" and have seen this movie a handful of times since -- that is when she is not tuning into PBS Kids to watch the daily animated series.
So, when I received this 7 episode DVD collection, with a bonus disc which contains 8 more fun filled episodes and fun feature's, I couldn't wait to share it with the girls. And, it couldn't have come at a better time, with them battling the nasty stomach flu going around these past few weeks. As soon as Savannah saw me opening up the DVD box, she exclaimed, "Clifford," and asked to watch it. I put on the first DVD and snuggled up next to the girls on the couch to watch a few episodes with them. I have to admit, being a fan of Clifford, I too, was excited to watch the episodes on this upcoming DVD release.
If you have not had a chance to watch the popular animated Clifford series on PBS Kids and have young children at home, you will definitely have to tune it -- as the episodes are not only entertaining, but educational. In each episode, Clifford, along with his owner and best friend, Emily Elizabeth learn valuable lessons like being kind to others, treating them with respect, friendship and being yourself.
Out of all the episodes, I have to say our favorite was "The Best Gift" in which Emily learns that material things are not important when it comes to celebrating a birthday. And, as for the bonus DVD, you are in store for more fun with Clifford, with 8 additional episodes, including a Valentine's Day themed episode called, "Clifford's Big Heart." By the time you are done watching all 15 Clifford episodes, you can't help but want to celebrate Clifford's 50th birthday with him. :-) So, why not start by picking up a copy of this DVD when it hits store shelves on Feb. 5th? :-)
