Now Available on CD -- Glee: The Music Presents Glease (Review)

I admit it -- I am a 30+ Gleek.  If you watch the hit Fox series, Glee, then you know that I am referring to the name given to the followers of this high school glee club show.  And, now that the new season has started again (began this past week), I am counting down the days until next week's "Grease" episode, where the new cast will show off their singing chops, as they perform songs from this hit musical.  I don't know about you, but I first fell in love with musicals after seeing "Grease" growing up.  And, I can't tell you how many times over the years, I have seen this and Grease 2 -- but, my preference is for the original -- no offense, Michelle Pfeiffer.

So, when I heard that Glee would be showcasing one of my favorite musicals, I began to wonder which of the popular songs they would cover.  Then, it was like Christmas come early, or an amazing birthday gift, as my birthday was last Friday -- when I received a copy of the Glee: The Music Presents Glease CD, which was released by Columbia Records on November 6th.

Just look at the tracks included on this CD, and which will be covered by the Glee Club -- note, some of these songs were performed during the November 8th show, which kicks of the second half of the new season.  The remaining tracks will be apart of next week's episode. Yippee!!!!

Now I have seen other shows and movies pay homage to Grease over the years, but have to say that I was impressed with how the new Glee club members (and the old cast) performed these hits.  With their new spin on some of the songs, like having Blaine sing "Hopelessly Devoted to You," about his recent breakup with Kurt, fans of Glee and Grease, will love this new CD, just as much as I do.

So, set your DVR's and make sure you tune in on Nov. 15th at 9PM ET/PT to watch Glee perform their rendition of the popular musical "Grease."  From what I have heard on this new CD release, it is going to be a great and memorable episode.  And, once you are done watching and re-watching it, you will want to pick up a copy of this CD for the car, and/or buy a digital download for your iPhone/iPod/etc.
