Can you believe that Kylie Minogue has been turning out hits for the past 25 years? I couldn't believe this when I heard it. Even though I have been listening to here music for over ten years now, I didn't know that she has been performing for 25 years. " Kylie has been celebrating K25, her 25th Anniversary in music, all throughout 2012. It has been an extraordinary career so far—60 million global album sales, multiple hit singles, global tours, and industry accolades—all of which has permanently cemented her place in music history as a bona fide superstar."
As a way of celebrating this monumental accomplishment, Kylie Minogue is releasing a 25th Anniversary CD entitled "The Abbey Road Sessions." "The Abbey Road Sessions features sixteen tracks, all radically reworked, spanning Kylie’s incredible twenty-five-year career. It was recorded in London’s legendary Abbey Road Studios with Kylie’s band and a full orchestra. The album features many of Kylie’s best-known hits and previously unreleased tracks. Over all sixteen tracks, one thing becomes very clear—stripped of her high-end pop production, the emotional resonance of Kylie’s songs has never been clearer, and her voice has never sounded better.

After her public and personal battle with breast cancer, Kylie penned her newest song, which I absolutely love, "Flower," in which she writes about the children she wishes to have one day. I can personally relate to this song, as I am cancer survivor and was told I wouldn't be able to have children. Now, 4 1/2 years out of treatment, I have two beautiful daughters -- my precious flowers!
In addition to this single, some of my other Kylie Minogue songs that have been reworked on this album include: The Locomotion, Come Into my World, and Can't Get You Out of My Head. I have been listening to this new CD this past week around the house, and as a result my daughter has become an instant Kylie Minogue fan. Whenever she hears "The Locomotion," she grabs the back of my waist and says, "Choo Choo." How can I resist starting a choo choo parade around the house?" And, her second favorite song, just like mommy is "Can't Get You Out of My Head." Even though she doesn't understand the meaning of the song, every time she hears the word "head" in the song, she holds her head with her hands and begins bobbing it back and forth. :-)
Kylie Minogue fans will love the new renditions of some of her hit songs. And, those who are not familiar with her work with become fans, just like Savannah. Watch this YouTube video for a sampler of the songs included on her new album, "The Abbey Road Session" out tomorrow in stores:
Love it? Make sure you head to your favorite local retailer to pick up a copy of this CD, or you can even download the entire album on iTunes, and add to your iPod or iPhone. Many of these songs would make for great workout songs. :-) And, make sure you tune into Dancing With the Stars on November 13th, when Kylie will perform live. She will follow up with a live performance of "The Locomotion" on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on November 14th. I have set my DVR for these two shows, and can't wait to see her perform live.
