My Thoughts:
I recently had the opportunity to try out two products from genie bra, after seeing them in infomercials on television for months. Because I do most of my blogging in the wee hours of the morning, the only thing that I can find on television for background noise is infomercials. I don't know about you, but when I watch these product advertisements, I always think to myself, "Do these actual do what they are claiming they do?" And, on a few occasions, I have impulsed bought -- maybe because I was half asleep -- only to be disappointed by the overall quality and use of the products that are "As seen on TV." Have you bought products from late night infomercials that disappointed? Or, were there products you saw and wished you had bought. This was the case with the genie bra and cami shaper. for me.
As you know, I had both my daughters back to back, within 15 months of each other. So, I never really gave my body a chance to get back into pre-baby shape before I was pregnant again. And, because of this, I found that the excess weight around my waist turned into flab after Arabella was born. With two young children at home, I don't have the luxury of heading to the gym daily, or having a personal trainer (like celebrities do) come to the house to get me in shape. Instead, my exercising consists of running after the girls, picking up after them and taking them when the weather is nice for a stroll. I wish I had the energy at the end of the day to work out. But, the free time I do have goes to catching up on sleep, blogging, showering, or just simply vegging out.
Each time I caught the genie bra and cami shaper infomercials on television, I wondered if they would provide a slimming, yet comfortable feel. I say this, as I have spent top dollar on other shaping camis after the girls were born, to help with getting my stomach back to (or as close to) it's pre-baby shape. Have you tried body shapers? If so, then you know how uncomfortable they can be, after you finally manage to get them off. How do makers of these control tops/bras/camis think these products are comfortable to wear all day? They are probably not in need for this all over coverage like I and so many other moms out there.
So, even though I was sent a genie bra and cami shaper for review, I was keeping an open mind and not expecting much from them. I first tried out the bra and couldn't believe how comfortable it felt. The stretchy material made it easy to pull over your head and put on. And, it was made with a seamless material, so I didn't have to worry about hooks or underwire pieces to show through my tops. The best feature for me was how the cups conformed to your breast shape. One thing I have found in the past with seamless bras is that they don't fit well in the bust area, and have excess material that bunches up. And, if you have back fat, this elastic seamless bra helps to eliminate it. So, you can feel confident wearing this seamless bra, knowing that you have all coverage and can feel comfortable wearing it all day long.
I couldn't wait to try the cami shaper, after being amazed at the positive experience I had with the classic genie bra. The shaper was easy to get on and off, and really did a great job in slimming my tummy and lower back areas, which have been problem areas for me since having the girls. Shirts I stashed in the back of my closet because they didn't look flattering could finally be taken out again and worn. I felt more confident while wearing the cami shaper from genie bra, and loved how it offered slimming coverage in all the right areas, while being comfortable to wear.
Overall, I had a pleasant experience with both products from genie bra, and was so glad I had the opportunity to review them. Now, when I see infomercials for these late at night, I will not have to wonder anymore if they actual work, as I know they do. With the holidays party invites coming in, now I don't have to think twice about what I can wear, that will hide my work in progress tummy. Instead, I can slip on the cami shaper and my favorite top, and feel and look great as I head out the door. :-)

Disclosure: I was sent samples from the vendor in order to write up an honest review. The views above are mine and mine alone.
I also have several Genie Bras, and I love them. I'm a 36D and have enjoyed not needing nor being poked by underwires. So, when I saw the Cami at Walmart last night, I figured I'd get a couple since we have a holiday dinner tonight and I wanted to look my best. I thought I'd give it a trial run today and I have to say I'm a little disappointed that the "built in bra" doesn't give as much support as I'd hoped. I've only had it on for a couple of hours and I have to keep pulling it back down and rearrange the "girls". Maybe pairing it with a lightweight athletic bra will help keep everything in place and still have the smooth appearance?
ReplyDeleteDidn't get to try the product. They couldn't deliver. After 12 days from my initial order they informed me via email that the product was on back order for 4 to 6 weeks. I cancelled my order. The TV commercial is enticing and I was willing to pay the $9.99 to expedite my order but they didn't come through are their end. Not a fan of their business practices or customer service center.
ReplyDeleteI really like bali sports bra. I work long hours and can wear one of these all day w/o it binding, squeezing me in two or becoming uncomfortable.
ReplyDeletecan breast feeding moms use the cami shaper to get there tommy back normal after delivery
ReplyDeleteCAMI SHAPER SUCKS! It doesnt stay in place at all. I constantly hve to pull it down, which defeats the purpose if u ask me. In order for my butt not to shoe when I sit dow, I have to SAFETY PIN IT TO MY PANTS! Watse of money, woulnd't recommend anyone to buy.
