Now Available on DVD -- Martha & Friends: Holiday Collection (Review)

“Celebrate Halloween, Thanksgiving & Christmas with 10 year-old Martha Stewart & her friends as they solve Holiday mishaps using their crafty skills. Highlighting teamwork and thoughtfulness, Martha & her friends remind everyone that it's always special when you do it yourself. This collection of 3 movies is fun for the whole family!”

I am no Martha Stewart, but I do love watching her show and getting some great craft and cooking ideas.  Either you hate her or you love.  For me, I am amazed at the things she creates and how successful she has become.  In addition to everything she is known for, her television show, magazines, cookbooks, her own company, etc. she still finds time to come out with new products.  Just last week (October 3rd), Martha and Friends: Holiday Collection came out on DVD.  What is this you ask?  I didn't know what it was either until I received a copy to review.  Can you imagine Martha Stewart at a crafty 10 year old?  Well, if you have trouble imagining this, then you will want to see this new animated DVD, which features just that -- Martha Stewart as a 10 year old.  Along with her friends, Martha welcomes in the holiday seasons with fun craft products, while showing the importance of teamwork and thoughtfulness.

I ended up watching this over the weekend, while everyone was asleep. Even though I am a fan of Martha's, I didn't know what to expect from a mini-Martha.  But, within 10 minutes, I could see the Martha I enjoy watching and learning from, and loved how she was now catering to a younger audience, and sharing her love of the holidays and arts and crafts with them.  Children will enjoy this animated holiday collection, and will be asking for you to try out some of the crafts and recipes they learned from the cartoons with them.  This DVD is a great way to get into the upcoming holiday spirit.  I will definitely be watching again, and sharing with family and friends.

Disclosure: I was sent a copy of this DVD from the vendor in order to write up an honest review.  The views above are mine and mine alone.
