Synopsis:
"It’s
finally time for Santa’s daughter to see the world. And for a girl raised in
the North Pole, what location could be more exciting than sunny California?
Through his magical snow globe, the proud papa watches Annie (Maria Thayer)
spread Christmas spirit throughout L.A., making friends with the owner of Candy
Cane Inn and waltzing into a job at Wonderland Toys. But Santa’s lingering
concern is the man his daughter will choose to take over the affairs of the
North Pole. Will it be Ted (Sam Page), the kid at heart who sells vintage toys
in a digital world, or the imposter, a Hollywood actor hired by the Senior Elf
who wants the holiday all to himself? Santa knows that only Annie can make that
decision—and that the fate of Christmas rests in her heart."
My Thoughts:
As I am finalizing my upcoming holiday gift guide, which will run from November 25- Dec. 20th, I am getting into the holiday mood by watching some great holiday family movies. Just this past weekend, I got up early to turn the heat on for the first time here in CT, made a cup of hot chocolate and filled a napkin with sugar cookies Savannah and her Daddy had made together, and settled in on the couch to watch Annie Claus, which released last Tuesday, October 9th on DVD.
I just love Hallmark Channel movies, especially holiday based films. I remember watching this movie last year with my mom, when she came to visit and help us trim the tree. If you missed this great family friendly movie when it aired, then it is worth picking up now on DVD. Did you know that Santa has a daughter named Annie? Well, he does, and in this movie, we see Annie go on sabatical from the North Pole from Thanksgiving to Christmas. Having never left the North Pole, this will surely be a trip to remember. In addition to experiencing the big city of Los Angeles, Annie's mission is to warm the hearts of those she meets with good cheer of the holiday season. Along the way, she meets two suitors who look to win Annie's heart.
Even though Annie is enjoying life outside the North Pole, she has a big decision to make -- who will take over for Santa, so that he can retire. Will she choose the man from the toy store she meets, or the sneaky imposter hired by the Senior Elf, who is looking to turn the North Pole upside down? I am not going to spoil the ending for you. :-) You will have to watch this heartwarming holiday movie to find out.
Disclosure: I was sent a copy of this DVD from the vendor in order to write up an honest review. The views above are mine and mine alone.
