It Is Never Too Early to Think About Your 2012 Holiday Cards -- Only 76 More Days until Christmas

Go to the Shutterfly home page.

As I sit here typing up this blog, I am looking out the window of all the colorful leaves that have already fallen from the trees here in CT.  It seems like as each year passes, the leaves change and fall earlier and earlier in the season.  We were seeing the leaving changing color during the last few weeks of summer.  And, now it like the trees limbs will be bare by month's end.  With that being said, my husband and I agreed that this years holiday card would feature the girls at our favorite local pumpkin patch.  We went last weekend to scope out the pumpkins and do one last apple picking for the season.  But, before we could take some photos of the girls picking pumpkins from the patch, it began to rain (go figure -- New England weather).  So, we packed up the girls and headed home.  By the time we pulled into the driveway, the rain had stopped and the girls were fussy from being tired.

This upcoming weekend, we will be heading back to the pumpkin patch to capture some fun pictures, which we will choose from for our upcoming 2012 Christmas card to share with family and friends.  Have you begun thinking about what your holiday card will be this year?  Like us, do you prefer photo cards?  I would love to know what plans you have for creating a memorable holiday card for 2012.

Haven't thought about your family's greeting card yet?  Well, there is only 76 days left until Christmas, and you need to leave room (preferably 3-4 weeks for production, shipping and then signing and sending out to your family and friends).  I have a tradition where I write up my greeting cards with my mother, after Thanksgiving dinner.  While my husband is playing with the girls, my father will get a catnap in, and my mother and I will do the cleanup and then sit around the kitchen table going through our greeting card lists.  It is so much fun.  Then, when everyone is well rested, we will put the Christmas tree up.

I have been using Shutterfly for my holiday cards for the past few years, as I love their quality of product and they offer a wonderful selection of designs/themes.  Here are just a few cards that have caught my eye ---

But, until I have our photos taken, I will hold off on choosing a card design, as I will need to know how many good photos come out and can be added to our 2012 photo card.  A few friends of mine have already gone ahead and ordered their cards, and are just waiting for them to arrive.  It is better to order early, than be disappointed when you miss the deadline to order.  So, what are you waiting for?  Click here to visit Shutterfly and begin browsing their selection of holiday cards, including their selection of photo cards.  And, don't forget to check out Shutterfly's Special Offers page - http://www.shutterfly.com/special-offers

Can't wait to hear which style you decide to go with. :-)
