This past Monday I introduced you to Laura Beck, creator of stripedshirt. If you missed my interview with her, click here to read it now - http://www.inspiredbysavannah.com/2012/10/spotlight-on-mom-laura-beck-of.html. Today, I wanted to share more about her striped shirt collection, including photos of my daughters and I wearing them. In addition, Lara has graciously offered to give one lucky reader a chance to win a striped shirt of their choice from her website, for themselves or their child. Read on to learn how to enter.
Like I said in Monday's post, I loved being able to dress the girls and I up in the same shirts. Not only did they look cute, but the photos we took of us wearing the shirts are priceless and really mean a lot to me. Right now, as I am typing this review post up, I am glancing up this picture taken a few weeks ago. Every time I look at this picture, it reminds me of how blessed I am to be a mother and have two perfect daughters, after undergoing cancer treatment four years ago, and being told I wouldn't have any children.
If you love sports just as much as my family does, then you know how hard it is to find fan clothing for children and women. In a world where sports is considered a men's sport and hobby, you would be hard pressed to find a fun and fashionable apparel designed with children and women in mind. Laura Beck noticed this problem for over 20 years and decided to take matters into her own hands and create stripedshirt, in order to offer fashionable, fun fan-wear built just for women and children.
After wearing these shirts for over a month now, I can say I haven't found another that comes close comfort and style wise when I want to root on my favorite team. And, the girls are getting in on the fun by sporting these stripes wherever. I chose the colors as they represted our town's school colors. But, the other day when I took the girls to the local park, with a game going on, I forgot about this, until a few moms came up and asked about the shirts. They not only loved the stripes and feel of the shirts, but loved how the colors were spot on to the town's school colors. Without hesitation I told them about Laura and her website and how they could go online and order shirts for themselves and their children. How cool would it be they thought, if the group of moms who sit on the bleachers were wearing their stripes in support of their children's teams? Not only would it be a photo worthy opportunity, but other parents would see how dedicated and supportive they were of their children's team and the town as a whole.
As for me, my girls are not in school sports just yet. But, we are enjoying playing dress up and heading out on the town in our matching striped shirts. And, when I am not dressing like the girls, I can't help but smile when I dress them in their matching striped shirts and see them play together -- such a precious and priceless moment I get to enjoy!
