My Thoughts:

Does your little one love the popular animated series, "Olivia" on television?  Well, Savannah does, and loves reading the collection of Olivia books we have picked up for her.  Similar to Angelina Ballerina (who is a mouse), Olivia is a precocious pig who loves to dance and were a tutu.  What makes Olivia so special in our house is that one of Savannah's first words besides Mommy and Daddy was "pig."  We used to read her these books from birth and onward, as when Savannah began talking, she would point to her Olivia dolls or books and say "pig."

So, when I saw this new release, I had to get a copy to share with our little princess.  You should have seen how excited she was when I showed her the book for the first time.  And, when Arabella went down for a nap, Savannah asked to have me read her this book.  The book itself is easy for young children to understand and follow along.  The illustrators, which are done by the author, are what really make the book.  They look like pencil sketches, but the author/illustrator makes them pop with the bright colors he adds to them -- usually in the form of the tutu, red and white striped pajamas, etc.

If you are familiar with the popular animated series, Olivia, then you know that this pig likes to be original.  In this book, Olivia wants to be more than a princess and sets off on a journey of self discovery.  It is not until the last page that the reader finds out what she wants to be.  But, if you follow the series, then you know that this little pig dreams big and her imagination is also big.  Young children will laugh and enjoy reading and looking at the fun illustrations in this book, as they see the many identities of Olivia, which make her stand out.  This book has become a favorite at bedtime, and will be enjoyed for years to come!
