COUNT ON ELMO AND THE REST OF THE SESAME STREET GANG THIS SUMMER AS SESAME WORKSHOP AND WARNER HOME VIDEO RELEASE SESAME STREET: ELMO’S MAGIC NUMBERS ON
JULY 10, 2012
“Up All Night” Star Will Arnett Makes Special Guest Appearance in This Hilarious
New DVD That Promotes Math
Add some learning fun and multiply the laughs with Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit educational organization behind Sesame Street, and Warner Home Video (WHV) new release, Sesame Street: Elmo’s Magic Numbers on DVD for $12.99 SRP. Join Elmo, Big Bird, Zoe and Rosita as they learn the importance behind counting, numbers and early math skills. Sesame Street: Elmo’s Magic Numbers contains two full-length Sesame Street episodes with over two hours of content including bonus footage, celebrity appearances and spoofs!
In Sesame Street: Elmo’s Magic Numbers, Will Arnett (Arrested Development, Up All Night) plays Max the Magician and visits Sesame Street to put on a spectacular magic show for Elmo and his friends. As the crowd watches in amazement, Chris points out that Max’s magic is actually based on match concepts that everyone can learn. Each hilarious lesson highlights a different aspect of the subject, including addition and subtraction. The episode also includes favorite segments such as “Elmo’s World,” “Murray Had A Little Lamb” and “Bert and Ernie’s Great Adventures.”
The second Sesame Street episode “Hat Day” features Elmo
and Zoe’s wacky contest to see who can wear the most hats! During this
episode, kids are encouraged to count, estimate and use multiples as
they seek to crown a winner of the challenge. Parents can also get in on
the action during a hilarious, counting-themed spoof of NBC’s hit show 30 Rock entitled “30 Rocks.” A 15-minute extra of “Elmo’s World” about hats is also included on the DVD. As an added bonus, each unit contains a special offer from the Personalized Elmo & Friends CD. Kids will delight in hearing their name spoken and sung by Elmo in three free customized tracks.[1]
“Sesame Street: Elmo’s Magic Numbers
is the perfect addition to any family’s summer schedule,” said Jeff
Brown, WHV Executive Vice President and GM of Non-Theatrical Franchise. “Even though kids are out of school, it doesn’t mean they need to stop learning. Elmo and his friends will keep kids entertained and educated while having fun in the process.”
Now in its 42nd season, Sesame Street is the longest-running
program in children’s television. The series has received more Emmy
awards than any other show in television history (138), as well as a
Lifetime Achievement Emmy Award honoring the 40th year.

My Thoughts:
What child, or adult for that matter, doesn't love Elmo or Sesame Street? I remember watching it as a child, and now get to watch it again with my daughters. Savannah is smitten with Elmo, just as I was. You should see our house. She has a whole corner of her bedroom filled with plush and talking Elmo dolls. And, I can't count the number of books and movies we have. But, we can't get enough of Elmo and his friends. So, when I was recently sent the new “Sesame Street: Elmo’s Magic Numbers, which arrived on DVD on July 10th, I couldn't wait to watch it with Savannah. This DVD features two full length Sesame Street episodes, along with a bonus episode and animation. We watched the entire DVD in one sitting, and have since watched it a handful more times.
I have to say Savannah's favorite part was counting the hats, which was part of the bonus episode. I sat there in awe, as she counted along. Then, when she was done and proud of herself, she began clapping, and had a huge grin on her face. I am so proud of my baby girl, and thankful that Sesame Street is still around today to help educate my children.
As a bonus, the DVD came along with a code to use, that we were able to use to create and download three Sesame Street tracks with Savannah's name. She was so excited when she heard her name being said on these tracks.
So, if your child is a fan of Elmo and Sesame Street, why not pick up a copy of this DVD today? Savannah's counting has gotten much better as a result of this new DVD release.
