not nuts! Seed and Fruit Mix from Enjoy Life (Review)

This is the third time I have reviewed snacks from Enjoy Life.  Previously, I reviewed their Crunchy Cookies, along with their granola and baking chocolate, which were oh so tasty.  So, when the folks at Enjoy Life asked if I wanted to try their two yummy not nuts!™ Mixes, which have recently received new packaging, how could I say no.  

Within days of speaking to them, Beach Bash and Mountain Mambo mixes arrived at my door.  

 

A yummy medley of sunflower kernels, pumpkin seeds, dried pineapple, apricots and cranberries. It’s a snack-tacular treat at the beach, on the trail or on the go. Perfect for people with nut allergies, people who don’t like nuts or for school-safe classroom snacks.

Ingredients:

Raw Sunflower Kernels, Pineapple*, Roasted Hulled Pumpkin Seeds (Sunflower Oil (Sunflower Oil, Citric Acid), Salt), Cranberries*, Apricots*

 

Made with sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds (pepitas), fruit and chocolate chips, our nut-free trail mix is both wholesome and delicious. Great for people with nut allergies, people who don’t like nuts or for school-safe classroom snacks.

Ingredients:

I wasn't sure if my husband would like this mix, as he is a fan of trail mixes with nuts.  But, I am hesitant to give Savannah many snacks with nuts, as I don't want her to choke or develop an allergic reaction.  I was going to wait until my husband got home to samples these two nut free mixes from Enjoy Life, but as soon as Savannah saw me take them out of the box, she couldn't stop tugging at my leg and saying "Yum Yums."  How could I resist her request for a healthy snack.  If you saw her big, brown eyes looking up at you, it would be hard for you to resist, too. :-)

So, I filled one of Savannah's snack cups with this tasty snack, and handed it to her.  She was intrigued by the ingredients, and ended up dumping the entire cup on the coach, so that she could look at each and then eat them one by one.  As I sat there watching her, I began to get hungry and reached for a cup of the Beach Bash mix.  "Wow," I couldn't believe how tasty this trail mix was.  I especially liked the combination of dried cranberries and pineapple chunks.  Don't tell anyone, but I ended up having two cups of this healthy snack.  When my husband came home, both bags were almost empty.  You don't know how hard it was for Savannah and I to keep from finishing off both bags.  But, we wanted to see what my husband thought of them.  After sampling each, he concurred that these seed and fruit mixes were yummy, and addicting.  He ended up finishing what remained in the bags in one sitting.  When I asked which flavor he liked best, he couldn't decide, as they both tasted good.  This didn't help, as I was a fan of the Beach Bash, while Savannah kept asking for the Mountain Mambo mix.  Either way, we found a new seed and fruit mix that everyone in the family can enjoy, and not feel guilty if they reach for a second helping. :-)

As for the new packaging, I unfortunately can't compare to the originally, as this was the first time I had tried or seen this snack mix from Enjoy Life.  But, based on the new packaging, I love the earth tones used, and the peek-a-book window in the lower left hand corner, giving you a glimpse of the tasty goodness inside.  You can see just from looking through the window, the large plump dried fruits, and the seeds, which are whole.  Be warned, don't stare at the mix on an empty stomach, as it will drive you crazy.  :-)  

Now, whenever my family or I are craving a snack, we reach for a bag of not nuts! Seed and Fruit Mix from Enjoy Life.  One cup of this salty, sweet and crunchy mix, fills us up, and leaves up feeling energized.  If you haven't tried this and other Enjoy Life snacks, why not pick up a bag or two when you go food shopping?  I found their double chocolate brownies the other day in the store.  And, in less than three days, they were gone. :-)
