My Thoughts:

My husband grew up watching G.I. Joe, and has continued to be a fan of this popular franchise.  He has even saved a few VHS tapes he had used to record a few of his favorite animated episodes on.  But, from watching the over and over again through the years, the viewing quality is not that good.  So, I wanted to surprise him for his birthday with this collectible 3-DVD set, which contains the entire second season of this series, which aired back in 1991.  

Does your husband or son like G.I. Joe?  My husband's favorite characters are Duke and Storm Shadow.  So, as soon as he saw then appear on the television, he went crazy, like a kid would watching their favorite television show.  Suffice to say this 3-DVD set was a hit with him.  He went as far as to say that is was one of the best gifts he has received in a long time.  

Since receiving this DVD set a few weeks ago, my husband has already watched all three discs, with a few repeat episodes, which he wanted to share with me as standout episodes.  I hadn't watched this as a child, even though my two brothers loved the series, and had a toy box full of G.I. Joe dolls.  I would just use the dolls as stand in Ken's when playing Barbie. :-)  I still don't see why men and boys are drawn to this animated series, as much as they are.  But, they are probably saying the same thing about me and other girls who loved Jem!
